The speed at which a blog loads is very critical to attracting more people to your blog.
The truth is that many readers may leave your blog if it is taking too long to load.
Google and search engines usually use the blog's page load speed when searching algorithms.
This is on the fact that a page loading fast gives better user experience compared to a slower loading page.
Therefore, web pages which load quickly are normally ranked higher in the search engine results compared to the web pages which load slowly.
The following are a few tips on how you can speed up your blog for best results.

Monitor Your Blog's Page Speed
Before anything else, test the speed of your blog's page and then check it on a continuing basis.
This will help you know when problems arise. You can do this through Pingdom Website Speed or Google Web Developer Test tool.
These two tools help in identifying the processes which are running slowly on the blog.

Use A Faster Server
The blog load speed can only be as fast as the web server you are using.
If you are hosting your blog via a third party, you are supposed to contact the web host's support team so as to know your server speed.
This will also help you to make sure that the blog has adequate bandwidth that can handle the peak traffic times.

Optimize Images
You should always re-size the images to the size you want in your published page or blog post before uploading them to the blog.
This is because large images are normally a resource drain and can take up valuable space in the hosting account and will slow down the blog load speed.
Make sure that the images you will see on the blog have been saved in PNG or JPEG format.

Delete Unnecessary CSS, JavaScript and HTML Code
They can lower the blog load speed when in excess. Delete the unnecessary code if possible.
You should also eliminate the duplications if you see any since they also slow the load page speed.

Other tips include the following
Make sure that the blogging application, plugins and theme are up to date.
Reduce the HTTP requests on the page.
Omit the problematic third-party add-ons as well as elements.
Reduce redirects and plugins.
Use caching software.

The above are some of the effective tips on how one can speed up your blog.

Nice tips man, but something you are missing is why to delete javascript and css just compress it.

How is that spamming? :)
We get a lot of people copy and pasting content from other sites in order to boost their post account or to achieve a "guru" status on the forum, which is why some of the members thought you were spamming before you mentioned that you owned the site the content came from.

This is not good article, because there are no real tips. For example, you advice to delete not used css or js code. How people can know what css are not in use? For js, it is even much harder.

The same problem for each part.

Optimizing images - gif can be optimized even better than png.

Blog speed monitor - pingdom is useless, because pingdom doesn't show where you have problems. Google test tool shows too specific and really bad recommendations.

There are some good articles and tips for better speed. I make the same steps on any sites and get A grade in 99%.

Thanks for these kind of tips man. But i can't understand why someone treat as a span ?
