compare with your old website.. optimize image.. remove unused code, compress manually to avoid error by plugin and then use cdn for more speed..
for my experience, i'm not use cloudflare because increase my FTB.. but if you need easy security you can use it..

Optimize the images used in the site. Focus on On page seo it will help...remove unwanted plugins.
