I want to start an affiliate program for my t-shirt business using Wordpress/Free Plugins. However, I was wondering what kind of things people look for in a program. The product itself is only $15 and US only. I was thinking I could give $5 to the affiliate, is this is a good commission?

In addition, I was wondering what kind of promotional banners, etc that I should make?

    Any other tips anyone?

If your website is on wordpress, you can setup affiliate programs using plugins that people make. It's not that hard. Hire some banner designers and let other's know about your affiliate program to get things going.

I am a graphic designer so I can make the banners and stuff, I was just wondering if anyone had a list of sizes or examples they could link to?

Also, I wanted input on my commission/price point to see if that was acceptable.

Thank you though, I am currently using the plugins you are talking about.

Any good ways to get exposure for my program?

$5 from a $15 sale is kind of high thats 33% commission, i think 20% commission is pretty good especially if you have some good products.

That is good to hear and yes my product is going to be very high quality (not a crappy DIY t shirt). Thank you for your input!

Hopeful - easiest way to know banner sizes, if you already have a website is to sign up for adsense. When they display the possible banner sizes available... there are the possible sizes. You don't have to do all the sizes, just design a few in the popular sizes to go.

Also there are probably some graphic designers here on BHW that can tell you banner sizes in their sleep.

If you have a chance, I'd love to see a catalog or samples of your shirts. PM me if you have something to show.

That's a great idea! I am going to do that right away.

I currently don't have any physical product (waiting on some IM businesses to kick in so I can get the $$ to bankroll my t-shirt business), but I will probably post on BHW when I do get everything setup. BTW anyone know the requirements for posting an affiliate program "launch post" on the forums?
