You actually cannot at this point - why not just post in the thread where they posted that got you thinking you want to ask them something?

Do you mean I have no privilege to pm somebody at the moment? I see they ask others to pm them in the thread( to buy something from them).

Ask them in the thread to PM you; I'm sure if they are selling something they would be happy to do that.
You need at least 15 posts/messages to get that privilege.
