My company is about to release a social networking software. I have ZERO experience with affiliate networks. What should I do? It is a great product, so marketers are gonna sell it easily. We are going to have press coverage and a good marketing campaign.

Should we have our own referral system? Should we go through a network? Or more than one?

Thanks guys!

forum markenting and social networking sites themselves could be good for this, yeah sure you can try affiliate networs like ewa, cj and peerfly are good in this sector.

In the beginning you should sell your software through a network. Once you start to understand basics and essentials of affiliate marketing you can go for you own referral system. You can start your affiliate program in several ways. One of the most easy technique is to use and affiliate marketplace like PayDotCom or ClickBank. These affiliate sites aggregate numerous affiliate products. For a small fee, and sometimes simply a percentage of the sale without an upfront fee, you can join their program.

When you join, you agree to let the marketplace add your product to a list of products that third party sites can promote. When you do so, you also agree to let the affiliate marketplace PayDotCom or ClickBank collect a percentage of each sale. Remember, you will also have to pay a commission to the actual affiliate site that sells and promote your product. The fees can add up quickly but are valuable if your product has a good margin. In addition, you can also join social networks and marketing forums.
