Someone wants to buy my IG account, but I want to make sure I won't get scammed. How can I safely sell it? Can he ask his money back from PayPal even though I give him the account?

He offered 800$. My account has more than 36k followers and gets 1k to 30k likes, many posts go viral and most post get more than 5k. Is 800$ a good price, how much is my acc worth?

I'm not trying to sell here, I just want to make sure he won't ask for the money back.

Ask for Paypal with friends and family, he cannot get a refund this way.

According to me it's good price for 36k follower account. You can agreement for selling the account that would be safe for you and him. Explain all the details about the accounts.

Just take BTC. I sold a 2 letter IG for $6k in BTC and used a middleman, I had no issues at all. I would never take PayPal for a transaction like this. They will not offer you seller protection and even if he sends as friends/family, there are plenty of ways for him to recover it/dispute it. Don't put your trust in PayPal's hands if you want a "minimal" risk transaction

It's 2019. If he wants the account badly enough, he can spend the 5-10 minutes to learn the basics of Bitcoin and then purchase some. It's not difficult. And if you don't ever deal with Bitcoin, it takes 10 minutes to learn. I can even help you if you want. Once you have the BTC, there's no risk of disputes/chargebacks and you can do whatever you want with it (Western Union, moneygram, cash trade, bank transfer, SEPA transfer, plenty of ways depending on your country).

Altough i'm pretty sure you can make more money just keeping your account and using it to sell shoutout/promote cpa offers/dropshipping. Especially in the long run.

So there's no way he can get his money back if we use BTC?

As soon as the transaction has a few confirmations, it's safe. The Middleman will hold the BTC though. Once he sends it, it's in your hands. You can do as you wish with them

Why would you need a middleman for this? Isn't it easier and cheaper to just give the guy your Bitcoin wallet address and make him do the transfer directly?

Of course, that would be the best way by far. But why would a buyer do that? That would just expose him to a huge amount of risk. He can send the Bitcoin and then the IG seller can just block him and there'd be nothing he can do.
Unless the seller is known or has some form of reputation, I don't see why a buyer would do that without a trusted / established person to middleman the deal.

Oh indeed, that's true. Who is the "middleman" you used for this?

When I sold my Amazon affiliate sites, I used escrow. It is the safest for everyone IMO.

Use some form of an escrow service. A crypto smart contract would also work but obviously takes some technical knowledge.

If you have the OG email for the account, there's really no risk.

If this person ends up being a scammer, there's a simple way in getting your account back.

You'll be sent an email from instagram saying that your email/passcode has been changed for the account. Then instagram will show an option that says "revert this change" and you can easily get your account back by changing the email and passocde for the account again.

But be aware that this option only works for a limited amount of time.

Try using a middleman, the price is good for that amount of followers, but depending on the niche i think you can make more money by selling shoutouts

What about western union or moneygram? Are these good options? Is it safe to sell it this way? Can they get their money back this way?

Why you are selling it? You can easily make those multiple $800 by sponsoring post for so many years. You have a very good engagement for a 36k followers account. So if i was you, i would not sell it or price it very high. $800 is very low for this kind of engagement.

I haven't decided if I want to sell it yet, I'm thinking about it. For how much do you think is worth selling it?

Though your followers are low, but according to what you are telling about your likes per post, it should be min. $8k no joke
