how to reverse engineer a 1 page site on top 5 google results ?

so you type "make Money" in your language and then the 4th google result is a 1 page site promoting binary options, how do you properly reverse engineer his campaign ?

Put the site through a backlink checker tool like ahrefs or majestic and see where the links are coming from.

Check his social media, backlinks, keyword density and domain details.

What the above two people said. No doubt it's his backlink profile ranking his site. He might have some/most of his PBN backlinks hidden from checkers so you perhaps will not see them, but you still have to give it a try.

Also, you might not like it that it's a one page site, and don't think it looks like a real, valuable site that Google should rank. Google ranks *pages* though, not *sites*. So if his home page is strong for your keyword, then it gets to rank. Because you think he has a crappy one page site, maybe on-page factors don't matter. But again, it's one page that's ranking. Maybe he has solid on-page SEO on that home page. Look over his home page to see if that's the case.

Its difficult to find all his backlinks, but you can do your best using all available tools together with some manual research.
