I have a blog with a few articles (less than 10), that I posted a year ago. Some of the articles ranking well, bringing about 20k organic traffic monthly.
Now I want to completely rewrite the articles since the current ones are pretty shitty, but I am afraid that doing so I will lose the rankings.
What is the correct procedure to put new content on the same URL to make sure that rankings will keep the same?
I am concerned about the following:
- Some articles are ranking well due to the content mainly, not backlinks.
Is there a high chance to lose ranks in G if I simply put freshly written content on the same URL (in Wordpress, if that matters) ?
- Is it common to try different content with the same URL to see what ranks better?
- I still don't have experience with redirects, is it something good to use in this case? e.g. publish new content with new URLs like new posts and redirect old ones to the new ones?
Thank you in advance,
