I would like to ask people over here how to remove the ghost followers who might make my account look bulky but aren't actually helping in making it that effective
I have asked this becauseYou've got to block them individually -- can be automated but you need to make sure you only remove the "ghosts"
that`s actually true sometimesI might be wrong, I work with Jewelry and watch industry, Most our ghost followers are real buyers. All full time active (commenting, like every post.. etc ) never really buy. So we decided to keep them.
What did you use to block your ghost followers? We just blocked 11k "ghost" followers from a 190k amount to see what effect it would have and so far, NOTHING. It is true that blocking non-engaging accounts should increase your engagement because it's mathematically true, but as far as it making a positive impact on follower growth, it's anything but science fiction right now. It seems logical and I wish it were true, but I'm yet to see convincing, quantifiable results.
What did you use to block your ghost followers?
Also, IG's algorithm may take a few days to re-kick and shuffle the way they show your posts, etc.
May I ask for what settings you used to achieve that please?I used our old Mass Planner account (which we always maintained active) to wipe the 11k over a period of 10 days. See the attached image.

Yes pleaseYou mean settings on Mass Planner?
It's better to do this manually as automating it can accidentally remove the wrong people from past experiences.
Maybe there are better tools and resources out there now I'm just stating my issues from the past I've had but I would recommend maybe hiring a inexpensive VA and getting them to scrape them manually, shouldn't take long and would only cost a few bucks depending on how many inactive users you have.
