How to recognize true gurus ?

First of all, I hate that word "guru" but they're known with it so whatever.

How to distinguish true gurus that provide actual value from fake and scam ones ?
in other words: How to improve your Bullshit Meter in the IM section.


it's hard to tell as they're all good in marketing -themselves- and hiding their bullshit, i find some content that is great and straight to the point then find later that it's all not realistic nonsense and the guy is fakeass bullshitter but after wasting hours watching the stuff.

I know some genuine ones around that really care about people's success but they are mainly into video marketing

Clive Mcgonigal, Adam Payne and Jaykay Dowdall(mainly fb ads) are some of the names off the top of my head

It may be true, I mean yeah, if you're making millions why are you so desperate to get some bucks from people.

but I think this is not necessarily, what if he's making money and wanna get more passive income by selling videos/guides or books ?

The marketplace for example is full of guides and books that their owners claim making 6 figures and still want you to buy his guide for 30 bucks, what do you think about this ?
 
Think you just have to know someone who genuinely wants to help you. Unfortunately that person would likely come from family ties, a bond of friendship, or you just getting lucky. Either way someone who is selling a course is in it for the money at the end of the day. It's that simple. You choose to buy it if you want but as far as them genuinely wanting to help you, its unlikely

It also depends on your definition of success, my friend sold hundreds of thousand of dropshipping ebook course, has no experience what so ever luck and determination got him there, in my opinion anyone calling himself GURU is the exact opposite of a guru. To me an online guru is someone making a shit ton of money from a website that consist of his name in the domain.

it's serious, people are wasting their savings because of this shit. I think we should make an updated shitlist for them, maybe we can help somebody.
 
The truth is that you need to have some expertise in the matter in order to distinguish the fake gurus and find the good ones.
Second truth is that there is some good stuff in the shitiest gurus and some bullshit in the good one, which lead us to point one - you need to know the basics.

  1. They don't need to proof anything to you
  2. They are not trying to lure you into buying their course (with rented cars and mansions, suits etc.)
  3. They are not selling it for only 29$ because they know their knowledge is worth more than that
  4. They are not overly eager to sell you something (Grant Cardone is a good example for aggressive selling tactics, cold calling people on sunday is a no-no.)
  5. They don't promise you ANYTHING
