I'm trying to rank my pages on Google but don’t have any backlinks yet. I’ve worked on the content and on-page SEO, but still not seeing good results.
Is it possible to rank without backlinks in 2025?
If yes, can you suggest some ways that actually work?

I keep hearing (from link building experts nonetheless) how backlinks matter less and less each day, so I would say yeah, it is possible. But you need to nail the keyword research and content quality aspects...

Yes, it's still possible to rank without backlinks in low-competition niches by focusing on strong on-page SEO and user intent.
Also, try targeting long-tail keywords, improving UX, and keeping content highly relevant and updated.

Not sure if this helps you but my clients who are running Casino sites are filling up their Trustpilot pages with certain long-tail keywords.

They will then ask me to publish new reviews using certain keywords and that's how they direct traffic.

Since they have been doing this for years, it must work to some extent.

PS: You'll get backlinks from Trustpilot too.

Yes, it's possible. Focus on long-tail keywords, strong on-page SEO, and helpful, updated content.

Also, optimize for Core Web Vitals, implement schema markup, and ensure your site structure supports easy crawling and indexing.

Yes, it's still possible to rank without backlinks in some low-comp niches. However, it's recommended to have at least a few quality backlinks to help your site stand out in search results.

Hey, I totally get where you're coming from. Ranking without backlinks is tough these days, but still doable especially if you're targeting low-competition, long-tail keywords. Keep focusing on solid content, internal links, and matching search intent. It takes time, but it can still work!

The websites which I seen that rank on google without having good amount of backlinks and lack of good onpage SEO are mostly blackhat. I recently seen a blog which got ranking for more than 27k high competitive keywords within 5-10 days. They bough a low DA expired domain with 20 root domain backlinks, started posting from 10th April and till now they have only 130 blog posts, more than 200 tag pages with duplicate content. All urls are indexed and driving huge amount of traffic from Google search and Google discover. The website is ranking single keyword like "jio", "airtel" etc. Don't know till when that website will sustain on Google, but pocketing good money.

Yeah, you can still rank without backlinks in 2025, but it’s way harder. You gotta target super low-competition long-tail keywords, build topical authority by covering one subject really well, and make your content actually useful, like adding templates or tools. Site speed, mobile experience, and good internal linking matter a lot too. Even then, getting a few easy backlinks from directories or niche forums can really help, so I’d still try to grab some.

Ranking fast with zero backlinks is definitely possible if you focus on smart, content-first SEO strategies. While backlinks still matter a lot, search engines are now heavily rewarding content quality, relevance, and user experience.

If its too early! Let your website settle in as Google takes time for a fresh website to index its pages. As you mentioned, I hope you have checked all the on-page necessary boxes and made sure your content is solving the user query... This alone, done right, is enough to show your pages in SERPs (Under 50 mostly for low-mid Competition), then connect with websites in your niche and try to place links contextually.. You should understand the process by Testing n Testing and whatever works, do it on repeat!
Good Luck

Prioritize low competitive keywords. If you focus your attention on high competitive keywords, you will probably have difficult trying to rank for them.

It is still possible to rank without backlinks if you targeting low-competition or long-tail keywords, but Imo, not for competitive niches

You can focus and put more weight on your content quality, relevance, user experience, and search intent

I have never ranked a link on zero using backlinks. Never seen anyone doing it. Back in the day I had a lot of zero links using lists and numbered lists that transferred real quality and short info to users. Nowadays, I suppose paragraphs are better. Something comprehensive and unique.

High authority Backlinks are key to ranking. Unless you are targeting low competition keywords, there is no way
around it.

Hello, thebeatsdude

I think can improve your ranking without relying on backlinks, but you need to play with more details.

Directly provide dry goods:

Technical details: First, check the website loading speed (Google now has extremely strict requirements for instant opening) to ensure perfect compatibility with mobile devices. If the page doesn't open for a long time, Google will just throw it back to you.

Content play mind reading technique: Don't just pile up keywords, now you have to predict the real needs of users. For example, when searching for "fitness plan", users may want to include dietary combinations, and this implicit need needs to be embedded in the content using LSI keywords.

User stickiness mysticism: Design the page as "you don't want to leave when you come in" - for example, embedding calculator tools directly into tutorial articles, and adding 3D product displays to e-commerce detail pages. The longer the user stays, the more Google thinks you are reliable.

Structured data hanging: mark the content with schema tags, such as marking step by step templates for tutorial articles, and marking prices and inventory for product pages. This can easily trigger selected summaries, which is equivalent to ranking for prostitution.

Self built traffic loop: Insert internal links related to the topic in the long article and concentrate the weight on the core page. For example, when writing "website building", link the articles on "theme recommendation" and "plugin evaluation" to form a content matrix.

Doing SEO now is like raising a fish pond - backlinks are like feeding feed, but these operations are like creating your own aquatic ecosystem.
