Quick solution that xtrapunch recommended works best if you don't need to mess around and tweak options. You can also just use nivo-slider or other slideshow plugins and change up the settings
I agree with above. I use nivo slider, there are other similar open source ones available. You'll have to do some customization but it will get the job done for you.
