I hired services of a guy for on-page SEO so I shared my (paid) keywords and (outsourced) content with him. But the guy is not responsive for more than a month.

Now im afraid the guy might use (steal) this stuff for himself, which is way more valuable than what I was paying him. I have also paid in advance.

Is there anyway to know if the content is being used somewhere else.

How can I protect myself. Don't want to shitlist him yet.

P.S. I am an SEO Novice

Anyone else to share experience ?

Why not?

Being skeptical is good for you.
Just to give him benefit of the doubt that he might show up anytime :) + previous gigs he delivered fine.

Any idea about question in OP ?

I understand what you are going through... But there may also be other reasons for his disappearance. Wait for sometime try reaching him by other possible ways. Eventually he might show up..

From personal experience... highly unlikely he's stealing your content.

You can check Copyscape to find the content if it's published.

Most likely it's personal reasons though. Disasters all over the globe right now.

And even if he is stealing... you just need to make sure you are #1 and he's #2 in Google. Not the other way around :)

Have you check the reputation this guy before use his service? Do a lot research about the candidate if you want a VA doing your job.
Possibility he steal your keywords is always there. It depend on the professionalism the writer.
Think positive and enjoy your live.

yes mate I did a little background check and didn't find anything fishy. Also in previous two gigs he did quite well.

Well you are unlucky then, or he has doing great job hiding his bad ass.
