I've been doing research for awhile on proper silo structures, but I can never find an actual example for an eCommerce website.
My real question is, in terms of content posts, should I throw these in the silos along with my products? Basically getting rid of the typical /blog directory and instead have each relevant post within the same content silos the products are.
So my structure would be:
apple.com/computer/
apple.com/computer/macbook-product-page
apple.com/computer/blog-post-about-computer
apple.com/ipad/
apple.com/ipad/ipad-product-page
apple.com/ipad/blog-post-about-ipads
Category page would contain: H1 > Description > products > Posts
I would only be putting posts within the related categories, thus I would not have a /blog directory.
Would love some thoughts on this method.
