How to promote website via SEO?

Hallo BHW members,

'm planning to create coupon site and promote via SEO (Link Building). I've confuse about link building. Already i know content marketing strategy like (Whitepaper, Research Paper, Ebooks, Infographics, Comics) etc. But, how to promote for coupon for this industry.

Are can i implement some old strategies.. ? Like (Directory, Social Bookmarking, Article Marketing, Blog post, guest post, Web 2.0 sites, Blog commenting). Can i get some good results from this old strategy.. or my new strategy "Content Marketing" ??

Anybody suggest me .. Let me know your thoughts.

I think social media, might help you the most for this kind of site. Might be the best way to spread the word about your site.

Try to market "Mix-up". Content Marketing + Old Strategy. Sure'll get massive results.
 
Link building through forum posting, blog comments,etc are yet effective if sites where you would post is a reputed and high PR site.
 
i think forum posting is not effect for coupon site. It's my suggest.
 
For a coupon website promotion, you should target your local market first and then with help of social sites promotion packages you can extend the SEO of your website.
 
Yes. Of course that's my planning our marketing strategy.

i think blog commenting very best tactic for promotion.

All you need is the right keywords.

Optimize your site for those keywords. Create high quality backlinks to your site.

Write articles above 450 words about your niche with the keywords in your anchor tag. Submit them to web 2.0 sites. Also create profile in high authority sites like mozilla, opera etc ... and get a backlink to your site.

You can also use Press releases to get quality backlinks to your site.
 
You should make a proper Game plan for your coupon site.

You know what ? I'm usually searching for coupons when mostly I'm trying to buy hosting and domains.

So findout the well know hosting and domain sites first and then find its coupon keywords via Google keyword tool. then make good newsletter to content each of those hosting and domain provider to tell them you're setting up coupon site and You'll do continous ongoing promotion/marketing of it. and I need a favor from you is that kindly give me most discount coupon ( a valid coupons), maybe they will offer you affiliates also.

+ Add 2014 in title So whenever you site will appear on first of google people try to click first on you.. because if you place year in title they will think that this coupon site has latest coupon updates.

+ Do classified Ad submissions.

+ Yahoo Answers

+ keep Your website update and eliminate not working coupons.

+ find other targets like domain hosting which I told you to do first you can get more targets from other coupon sites. and see what coupons they are promoting.

+ keep your eye on your competitors backlinks and try to get links from those source where they have built.

+ Social media marketing: make a page on FB, Do natural work on it. Don't be greedy to get fake likes, shares and fans Get only whatever you can get naturally.

+ keep posting new coupons updates directly to your social profile/pages or social status.

there are so many steps more you can do. but I guess above all is enough to kick start your coupon site. and make it well known coupon provider in market.
 
My advice to you is to take a look at your top competitors and see what they are doing. When a client hires me to do SEO work, that is one of the first things I will do. Usually I will take the top 10 - 20 competitors, analyze their link profile and build backlinks on the same sites as the top competitors. But I only focus on the quality links the competitors have. If you would like to see some example links of your competitors, feel free to PM me :)

yes, first we have to analyze the competitors link profile when compete with them- if the site is magazine or any other affiliate site

but in this case (coupon site), it is hard to compete with the top sites because their link profiles are so mystery...

hey OP try to concentrate on three major keywords for your site and do seo for your homepage. The old strategies are enough to rank your site..try to include some extra work on seo, i mean try email marketing for promoting your site..buy ads..many of the sites offer banner ads on their homepage so try it...

NOTE: AT least create 30 unique informative contents for engaging people..and your ads should be attractive...:detective
Over-optimization also ruin your site so consider PHPBUILD's IDIOT PROOF GUIDE
