When you're looking through marketplace services, you're bound to come across a load of different payment methods. This might leave you wondering which ones you should trust.

Here at BHW, we don't limit sellers based on what payments methods they accept, but some have more security for the buyer than others.

In this thread, we'll be going over some of the most commonly accepted payment methods so that you can make a more informed decision.

PayPal (Business)
This is one of the more common payments methods you'll see on the forum. In terms of refunds, they tend to favour the buyer (especially when digital goods are concerned) and they have their own disputes centre. You'll also get the full payment back, including the transaction fee.

PayPal (Friends & Family)
You'll come across this in some sales threads where sellers want a PayPal "friends and family" payment. You see, PayPal has an option for friends and family to money to account holders. In some cases, the fee is waived for the seller through this method, but you should be advised that PayPal's Buyer Protection does not cover payments made in this manner.

Stripe
The fees for Stripe are comparable to PayPal, albeit slightly cheaper.

Unlike PayPal, you won't get your transaction fee back if you need to pay through Striple.

Wise
Formerly known as Transferwise, Wise has been showing up more on the forum in the last several years.

Wise typically has lower transaction fees than most other payment processors and they are not currently subject to income reporting.

You can request refund with Wise, and the money gets sent back to the bank or card you paid with.

Zelle/Venmo/Cash App
These three are free peer-to-peer mobile apps that allow its users to transfer funds between recipients. There are fees when funds are cashed out and there are a few differences between them. For example, Zelle requires its users to link to a bank account whilst Venmo and Cash App allow its users to maintain a balance on the app itself.

Additionally, it's extremely difficult to get your money back if something goes wrong.

Cryptocurrencies
You all know what Bitcoin is, and some sellers accept BTC and other cryptocurrencies in their sales threads. Some people prefer these payments methods as they don't like using fiat money, there are (sometimes) no fees involved, or they like not having their money tracked.

One issue with paying with cryptocurrency is that you cannot simply chargeback if the service doesn't work out; you'll be at the mercy of the seller.

Payoneer
This is one is preferred by sellers who like its lower transaction fees and live outside of the US.

You can file chargebacks through Payoneer in the event of a non-delivery.

Fun thread i might write one with oayment processors that i researched that are legit and good but not that popular

Are you sure about that?
What I see that crypto is the most Common one and PayPal is the rarest
Given my role in the marketplace, yes, I'm sure that it's one of the more common payment options.

Bear in mind that in the opening post, I said more common, not most common.

Cryptocurrency is quite popular in sales threads and sellers usually accept it alongside other payment methods. In some cases, usually depending on the service, sellers may only accept cryptocurrency.

Sellers who accept cryptocurrency will often mention it in their sales threads, whereas sellers who accept PayPal payments won't outright say "PayPal accepted" in their sales threads.

pay via crypto is friendly

Definitely not recommended unless the member is well-known and reputable.

Serious sellers should offer options, enough with the 'send USDT' crap thats non refundable.

As a seller myself I got thousands of Paypal payments and not 1 refund (if someone wasn't satisfied ill just refund them) so all these low quality service providers hiding behind their crypto payment is not something I'm willing to accept any longer.

They don't mind providing a shitty service because they know u cant dispute the transaction, there's 0 protection to the consumer.

I've also recently lost $300 which isn't a lot but still, not fun getting scammed, especially by a Jr VIP on his marketplace thread lol.

Don't send crypto unless you're willing to lose the money. The member was banned btw by the mods which is great, but I'm still down $300 and without the service I needed.

I would like to add something, for the awareness (and benefit) of the BHW community :-
If a seller does not accept Paypal, it does not necessarily mean that such a seller is likely to scam.
The reason for this, is that since the last 8 to 10 months, Paypal is very strict about using Paypal to sell (and buy) certain services such as SMM services, proxy services, etc.
The reason why since the last 8 to 10 months, Paypal is very strict about using Paypal to sell (and buy) certain services such as SMM services, proxy services, etc, is that there has been a spike in people around the world scamming online and scammers use proxies. Ofcourse, this does not mean that all proxy users are scammers.
However, the spike in online scamming, with such scammers using proxies, is what has resulted in Paypal lately considering proxies as a "high risk" product or service.
About SMM services, also there has been a spike in scammers using social media accounts to scam people and considering that SMM services commonly use bots / automations, is the reason why lately, Paypal considers SMM services as counterfeit. But, obviously not every social media account users are scammers.

So, above are 2 (of many) reasons why sellers of certain types of services would nowadays avoid accepting Paypal in order to not have their respective Paypal accounts suspended. Moreover, what is lately going on, is that EVEN BUYERS of SMM services are getting their Paypal accounts suspended due to buying a counterfeit service (as explained above about SMM services).

Nonetheless, if a seller does not accept Paypal, it does not necessarily mean that such a seller is likely to scam. Any potential buyer must do his or her due diligence about sellers and then take a decision to buy or not.
Over the last few years, I have bought many products / services via BHW Marketplace and paid by crypto and till today, I have never been scammed (I did my due diligence about the sellers).

Another misconception that I keep reading about: Crypto payments cannot be refunded. ALL crypto payments can be refunded. What cannot be done in a crypto payment, is a chargeback. People are still confused between a chargeback and a refund.

For every internet marketing product or service, there are multiple sellers available. Therefore, no matter what is the mode of payment, just spend 10 or 15 minutes doing a due diligence about the seller and then make a decision to buy or not to buy.

I only use paypal as an exit-intent pop up tbh.

Something like

(WAIT!
Don't want to use Stripe? Just for you we'll do PayPal!)
Because as much as we loathe PayPal, we can't deny its influence - it's HUGE.

and if it increases conversions by 5% I'd be happy.

I wish you luck as well matey. (and all who read this <3)

I noticed that some sellers asking to visit their website and follow the payment gateway added on their website, is it safe to pay them following that payment method added on their website.....

Currently, we direct all sales through the merchant's website. Please ensure you do your due diligence as we test on what is based on our marketplace.
