How to optimize website traffic drop?

Hey, maybe check how your competitors' traffic is dong. See if it's just your site acting up. Look at keywords you used to rank well for and see if videos or other posts are taking over. Also peek at Google search console for recent crawls that didnt get indexed, might be some tech seo stuff to tweak

Is your content something that AI answers can churn up? that also could be one of the reason for the drop. If they are, chances of them returning is on the downward slope.

First check Google Search Console for indexing, manual actions, and keyword drops. Then review Google Analytics to find pages losing traffic. Audit old content (intent match, freshness, internal links), check backlinks, and compare competitors. Also inspect technical issues (speed, crawl errors). Fix weakest pages first, not everything at once.

Start with GSC check which pages/keywords dropped. Then review intent, content quality, and lost backlinks.

I don’t think there’s any software that can directly increase organic traffic or keyword search volume on its own.
From what I’ve learned, tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, , SEMrush, Moz, and Ubersuggest are more for tracking, research, and optimization not generating traffic automatically.
What they really help with is finding keywords, improving content, and understanding what’s working. The actual traffic comes from ranking better on search engines, not from the tool itself.

so you've been updating and optimizing articles since mid-november but it hasn't made a difference, did you notice any specific changes or updates around that time that might've triggered the traffic drop?

You diagnose the cause first, then fix it. Otherwise you’ll waste time tweaking the wrong things.

1. Confirm the drop don't guess
Start with data in:
Google Analytics
Google Search Console
Check:
When did the drop start?
Is it all traffic or just organic?
Is it specific pages or site-wide?

2. Match the Date With Algorithm Updates
If the drop aligns with a known update from Google:
Review what the update targeted (content quality, spam, etc.)
Compare your site against those factors

3. Identify What Actually Dropped
In Search Console:
Check queries - lost keyword rankings?
Check pages - which URLs lost traffic?
Check CTR - fewer clicks even with same ranking?

This narrows the problem:
Ranking drop - SEO issue
CTR drop - title/meta issue
Impressions drop - indexing or demand issue

google was inflating impressions since last year. they are updating to show more realistic numbers. thats the decline
