I often ask myself, whether I am wasting my life doing what I do in this very moment.
As in "yes, I earned 10 dollars doing what I did, but 10 dollars, just 10 dollars, for that much work" or simply "I am not watching any movie or playing any videogame, it is always a waste of time" or "I should work on X but I cannot make myself to do so".
It all boils down to the question:
What is a good use of my time?
Is it earning money?
There is the saying that no old person had ever said that they miss not having worked more.
Assuming this was accurate, working more is not the solution.
I came to the conclusion that whenever I am present, it is a good use of my time.
If a movie relaxes me and makes me happy, I use my time well.
On the flipside, the time I spend for a movie I cannot spend learning a new language or making money.
But then again, I speak german, english and a little bit french.
I am understood almost worldwide.
So learning another language or improving french...why?
The first answer that comes to mind is: to prevent dementia. According to science to prevent dementia you have to always learn.
This could go on and on so I stop here and ask:
When do you not have the feeling of wasting your time?
