First of all, I've read enough posts where people saying that SU gives you pretty useless traffic, so no need to flood the topic repeating same thing. I tried to search older topic about monetizing stumbleupon traffic, found few ones that talked about it, but almost all of them went off topic after the second post. + They are old. I got about 33k people from SU in 3 days on my blog. Most of the traffic comes from US and Canada. Seeing big numbers is fun. Although the traffic is pretty useless. Bounce rate was 66% and they stayed for almost 1 min on the page. I tried CPA offers, did not work. Put adsense then for a while. It got 900 impressions and 0 clicks. So, does anyone had any success with this kind of traffic? Please share your experience or ideas. I will share mine : ) - Tried Free ipod/ipad offers. Got few clicks, no leads. - Tried Browser game offers. Same here .. few clicks, no leads. So I guess SU users don't like to give their emails away. If they don't, then building email list won't work either. The question is .. what will?
Its not hard to get their emails, use exit pops or any pop ups. Thats what Im doing. There are niches that works immediately even without cooking them first with auto responders but I cant share that now.
If you got a 66% bounce rate, you are doing great. I did a 33k campaign and had 90%+ bounce rate with about 3 clicks. Time on site was about 30 seconds
64.83% Bounce Rate - 00:00:47 Avg. Time on Site < Yesterday. Put adsense back, rotated ads and got few nice clicks. I guess for the category that the traffic comes from, the CPA offers did not work. (cuz it was not targeted) I will try collecting emails on different niche.
I've got loads and loads of traffic from Stumbleupon but nothing converted so I pretty much said goodbye to it. Its only good to increase your alexa rank. Most people wouldn't even remain on your site for more than 5 seconds.
I tried adsense with Banner ads only and works fine. it is the key. when I tried CPA, it was not related offers. I still got clicks, but not leads. Adsense offers them content related ads and CPC is very high. It gave me 65 cents per click because the traffic mostly comes from English speaking developed countries - US, Canada, UK and Australia.
Using stumbleupon аnd google analytics I've noticed a couple оf things. Firstly, stumbleupon hаѕ bееn great for increasing visitors (I'm talking raw numbers) tо mу blog. 40-50% of traffic Ñ–n thе past 5 days haÑ• Ñome from stumbleupon. In terms of how thÑ–Ñ• hаs effected thе revenue generated from the site, it has hаd zero impact. Whilst visitors have increased, mу adsense CTR haÑ• dive bombed to record lows (eg. sо far today ovеr 300 page impressions, zеro clicks). So based on mу highly scientific study tо date, I would saу stumbleupon might be great fоr bringing in a bit of quick traffic, but it doеsn't Ñ•eеm tо helÑ€ make аnу money uÑ•ing adsense.
Since stumbleupon users click on Stumble! button very fast, having text ads on website does not catch their attentions. That's why banner ads work fine. Just not sure how google will love clicks that come mostly from SU people.
Sorry for lack of useful info ahead of time but heres what I have to say: So i have a website that is monetized with CPM. about $3 per 1000 views (per ip). Now the site is all naked girls and the main page is a very minimalistic page with shit loads of thumbnails on it with links that, when clicked on, get me cash. So the idea is that some 20 year old male stumbles through looking for porn, sees this site and odds are he will click on 1 link (i mean who wouldn't?) so the theory is that this should get alot higher CTR because it is basically a super targeted add (10k people looking for porn ->>> lots of hot girls --->>>> guaranteed money per click) I will be doing a campaign shortly, but thats all I can share at the moment.
As far as my experience tells me, SU is nice tool for getting traffic only that builds up your alexa rank. However sometimes the traffic did play a role in increasing the revenue of my site but only inconsistently.
bs7280 - Would you mind sharing the program that pays $3 for 1000 views? will appreciate it. GiftGuru - You paid for 33k visitors? It's just unnecessary imho with SU. Will I have a problem with adsense if SU is the primary source of websites traffic? Google TOS talks about social networking site, it is different I know .. so idk
Yes, your content should be easy and fast to digest, like pictures, info graphics and videos, for blog post a list with a catchy title is good. I stopped using their paid ads now, I have hundreds of dollars sitting in my account right now that I cannot use because I'm having a hard time to get my pages approve. I ended up building a bot to create and run my thousands of accounts and so far it's good. Like I said, use exit pops to capture leads first and follow up using your auto responder. You can't expect them to buy immediately.
I have a hard time too. after they changed some things in their paid service, getting approved got harder. And even after approval, the result is not as good as it used to be. If I'll order 10 cent views, do you think it will changed anything?
