Alright, I know this is kind of weird to ask because i'm selling the product on this site, but I've made it no secret that my expertise is in writing software and not marketing.

I need help from you guys on how I could go about marketing my product (poll factory) to a wider audience.

When i wrote Poll Factory 1.0, I really didn't market it at all (the only promotion that was done was a blog post from Ruck at CashTactics.net). The reason i never went "bigger" is because I wasn't confident enough in my product to support it on a larger scale

With the release of Poll Factory 2.0, I'm beyond confident that the product works and is well worth it's asking price. I'm in the process of buying a new home, and I'd really like to go "big" with poll factory to help with the down payment. The problem, is that I have no idea where to start and I'm hoping you guys can throw me some ideas.

So far the only promotion i've done has been on this forum, and on ppc-coach. I've contact a couple of "big name" bloggers asking for a product review, but have only heard back from one of them. I know Im just another guy looking for a review to them, not really sure how to "stand out" and grab their attention.

Any marketing ideas and pointers are appreciated.

Thanks,
-Eric

Hiya Eric, have you not thought about using the Warrior Forum and selling it as a WSO? That should shift a few I would think...

PS Just emailed you for the upgrade to v2, and I said I saw this thread on the Warrior forum. I meant on here...It's my age, I forget things, Steve

:) :)

Make a list of all the "gurus" that promote ppc, cpa, affiliate marketing stuff. Get in touch with them, email them if you can' get phone numbers. Tell them about your product and give them a chance to try it out or demonstrate it to them. If they like it, which I think they will
make a deal to promote it to their list.
Don't limit yourself to big name bloggers.Contact anyone that is involved in ppc/cpa and ask them to review your software. You could also post on blogs of course. Keep at it. Good luck.

Great advice above from nj1485. This might sound strange, but I would strongly suggest enumerating some concrete goals. Maybe it's units sold, dollars made, lists built, or whatever, but by knowing exactly what it is you want to accomplish, you can gain a lot of perspective about how to generate the result you're looking for.

Get an affiliate script, or get listed on clickbank/paydotcom, etc...

Don't be afraid to outsource any and all of it when it benefits you. I'd offer up a promotional video for a copy of your software, and minor coaching. PM for a link to a samples of my video production work.

I hope you make a ton! Good luck.

Wish I'd have seen this when you first posted it. You've no doubt been thoroughly inundated with PMs by now.

But if you need help with promotion and/or reaching out to your target market I can help. Message me on Yahoo or AIM (links to the right) if you're interested.

Eric,

Since you do not have the experience in actual marketing, I would definitely take davers up on his offer! JV's are often the best way to promote products and get the word out. :)

Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for the ideas. Things like promotional video's etc would definitely be cool. I'm going to try and get one up, along with a "free ebook" to distribute with the product or to use with JVs

Anyone think putting Poll Factory on DigitalPoint would be a good idea? I'm a little scared of all the scammy shit that goes on there. In fact, i know of at least one person selling the old poll factory as his own.

How about a discount version of poll factory that has all the pages it makes have a link
( such as "Want to make polls like this one? Click Here!") at their bottom to the poll factory order page? Or maybe just the option to automatically have that link for people who are
affiliates?

yeh get it on clickbank if you havent already. that will help

Do you think clickbank would be better than paydotcom? I have like 450 active affiliates on paydotcom, but very few of them have ever brough in a sale. That's why i haven't bothered with ClickBank (also because it's so easy to commit "refund" fraud).

Maybe I should just suck it up and try it though....

Of course you should sign up for clickbank and of course people will
commit refund fraud but you will make more than you lose, right?

Maybe you should increase the resources available to affiliates.
Got banners? Ads to copy and paste? an affiliate forum?

And of course think of follow up products to sell.

You should try it out, you have a great product. I have a Clickbank account and I'll start marketing for you.
