I'd like to make money online and my skills are web design, UX, UI, and all that kind of graphic stuff have a budget of $500 and can spend 5-6 hrs per day. I was thinking of Fiverr, UpWork etc, but it is hard these days to get first offer on these websites.

Any ideas how to help me?

Make a theme on Themeforest. Pay for a couple fake reviews/sales if your work isnt good enough.

But you need to code it or no? How much would that cost €? To hire a programmer to code a simple landing?

Nothing is easy. If you want freelancing, try Upwork, Fiverr, People per Hour, Guru (avoid Freelancer.com - my advice). Try to find your own clients - cold emailing/calling. Or to sell on online marketplaces - Envato, Creative Market, The Hungry JPEG, etc. But every approach has its own problems you have to overcome, every website has its own logic and rules you have to learn. Pick what is the most suitable for you and figure it out.

Without having a portfolio, even if it's a fake, it's harder to get a job on this sites. Think about it, everyone can do what you do, so, what can make you do to be different? Just have/do something better than the others, like have a better portfolio, better titles or better manners.

Today i went with my gf to play biliards/pool. I've known this owner for only a few months and today we talked a bit, he asked what do i do and i said: i work in IM, do sites, update sites. Just to keep it simple. And he told me that he wants to do 3 different website, so tomorrow i'll go there and try to pitch him my services.

Now, i live in Rome, it's a pretty big city and there are many businesses just like restaurants etc. So if you have the chance, just go to a business that ALREADY KNOWS YOU, maybe a restaurant,a bar or maybe an internet point and just go there do some Social Engineering and get them to ask you for a website.

Or you can just go there and directly ask "Hey, do you remember me? (always with a big smile)" "Yes/No" "Yeah i'm that guy etc. etc. i'm starting to build websites and i want to make you one"

OK, don't say exactly this but you get it.

This is not an advice for sites like Fiverr, Upwork etc. but i know that it's really hard (not impossible) to land a job there without having at least a bit of experience. So build a fake portfolio, or just build a real portfolio.

There are many guides here to land your first client, like doing some free websites to get other clients, just search it up. And i'm pretty sure that there are guides for this Sites too.

Have a great day1

Seems cool but mostly these people won`t respond to your email or there won`t be a boss at that place when you come in real. My question is targeted to people who find clients day by day, not people who do not work in the web design and just want to talk "what they think". ;)

Yeah, mostly, not all of them.

I get it that you want answers from people in the web design biz, but from my point of view you're trying to find a job.

When you search a job what do they ask you? Have you ever done this? Do you have any experience?

Obviously, you can find people that will eventually take you, but it's a lot harder.

Thanks for your answer and for your attention, my answer was just and advice: get some "fake" or true experience aka portfolio and you'll surely skyrocket your odds to get hired/accepted.

Or just buy fake review :)

Think about it from a client perspective.

Other than the skills, that you surely have, what does he want to see that will make him choose you?

Remember that a BIG part in marketing in general revolves around TRUST.

If you look trustful you have already a big advantage.

Anyway i don't know how much experience you have, so i'm giving this advices based on what you told in your posts, so if you think that my posts are useless just skip them and don't bother answering them.

Peace bro! Have a great day!

Op do you have any experience with this? (don't answer op) It's so simple young Johnson

Why not upgrade to JrVip & sell this service here?

Do cold calling and send them a ready-made prototype of their new website (or whatever you're selling) for free.

You could send emails and call websites that look less attractive. You need to record a video with their website as the background. In it, you should tell them how you can improve it.

I guess they will. I am about to upgrade too, to sell my software.

I hate web design I don't have the patience for it, but my best luck has been with local businesses which can turn into word of mouth leads. Buy a couple of cheap templates $50-$60 charge them 5k = profit. Marketing web design online seems pretty cut-throat considering all the cheap labor from India. Just my 2 cents. Good luck to you.

He has to standout. This is very easy if you speak the language of the client and can gain their trust. The key here to be professional and make the see you will always be there.

So what is in Your opinion better method / easier etc. to earn money online? Thx for reply

Wouldn’t bother with sites like Upwork, Fiverr, Freelancer, etc. I’d recommend Instagram and Dribbble. If your truly great at design it should be easy to get clients from these sources. My first year at 17 I made $5K basically nothing but at 20 now I will take home $80-$100K this year and I use no freelancing sites.
