Have you tried utilizing pop ups targeting competitors?

Make a landing page with a $50 coupon balance (just an example) something like,
Register in 5 minutes and get $50 of free balance.

Make sure the landing page is mobile optimized (responsive theme).

Also filter out the domains which won't convert using a tracking software.

You should buy trafic (media buying) and make some tests to determine which is the best way to convert your visitors.

1) Trafic type : PPC / PPV / PPR / PPA
2) Trafic sources / Geos / Device / etc
3) Landing Page -> A/B Testing -> Conversion Rate
 
Forget about trying to rank keywords for a gambling site, too much competition.
You gotta buy ads to have any chance.
 
Social media sites are great to post on. Or how about finding some gambling forums and posting there with links to your site?

If you aim to get organic traffic, check your onpage optimization and content as even if you have many backlinks but poor content and gaps in onpage SEO, don't expect much traffic.
Also check your backlinks, are they niche and overall good? Do they come from relevant pages without spam etc? Is content of those pages good? Are you sure link building speed was not too high? Is there no anchor overspam?
You may also try advertising opportunities if you can't wait for organic traffic.

When you buy many backlinks in a short period of time Google considers it to be suspicious and this can affect your website rankings. The advice here is not to be in a hurry.
 
Gambling sites are little more time and money consuming as there are less resources available for link building for such sites.
