Updating your XML sitemap, creating quality content regularly, building backlinks, and using strategic internal linking to increase crawl rate and so on. Each case is unique, you need to audit and correct any deficiencies identified.

Other than the fundamental onpage SEO stuff, I find building backlinks + sharing on social media (especially shared by big Twitter accounts) to be the most effective in term of increasing crawl rate.

With that said, what's your indexing rate?

a drop in crawl rate (or low crawl speed from the start) can be a signal that google sees the content as low quality. this is especially true if the domain has low authority and weak backlinks

you should take an honest look at your content and compare it with competitors. if it’s basically just a rewrite of existing stuff, doesn’t offer anything new to the reader, and provides no unique value or service, google will be in no rush to crawl it

Most likely this,
It's normal for new/weak websites to have a low crawl budget,

The more authority (links), pages, frequently posting/updating pages the website has, the more crawl budget/rate you'll get,
But the screenshot is reflecting some critical SEO problems if you're already posting content,
You should get at least a dozen pages crawled/recrawled per day, dropping out to zero means the website is being ignored because of spam/penalties

Using a sitemap, silo structure, and internal linking—along with content that isn’t low-quality—can help improve crawl speed. Since Google doesn’t trust a new website yet, you should feed it 5 to 10 articles per day consistently to get them indexed. Once the crawl rate starts increasing, you can ramp up the publishing speed.

6 points help of increase the crawl rate

1.Keep your site up and running avoid downtime so search engines can crawl your site anytime.
2. Improve site structure make your site easy to navigate with clear categories and internal links.
3. Fix broken links get rid of any 404 errors or redirects that slow down crawling.
4. Speed up your website a faster site allows search engines to crawl more pages in less time.
5. Update content regularly keep your site fresh with new and relevant content.
6. Build quality backlinks more backlinks tell search engines that your site is important.

To increase the crawl rate of your website, here are some effective steps:
  • Improve Site Speed – Faster websites are crawled more frequently. Optimize images, reduce server response times, and use caching where possible.
  • Submit a Sitemap – Make sure your sitemap is submitted and up-to-date in Google Search Console.
  • Fix Crawl Errors – Regularly check for crawl errors in Search Console and fix broken links or inaccessible pages.
  • Increase Internal Linking – More internal links help Googlebot discover new and updated content quickly.
  • Publish Fresh Content – Updating your site with fresh, high-quality content encourages bots to visit more often.
  • Use Robots.txt Properly – Ensure your robots.txt file is not blocking important pages.
  • Improve Site Structure – A clean, organized URL structure and hierarchy make it easier for crawlers to navigate your site.

Increase crawl rate by improving site speed, internal links, content quality, and getting stronger backlinks.

Rank Math’s API and IndexNow only work if your Crawl Capacity is high; if your server response time is over 600ms, Googlebot throttles the crawl rate regardless of pings. In 2026, the 'instant' fix is actually a Technical Audit: prune your low-value URLs to stop wasting crawl budget, and ensure your homepage has a 'Recent Posts' block with direct links to new content. If the bot sees a high-authority page changing frequently, it will automatically increase your sitewide crawl frequency without needing a plugin.

Improve internal linking
publish consistently
and earn quality backlinks to boost crawl rate.

Crawl rate declines when server usually becomes busy and return errors for the crawlers.
Also declines when you have many pages that are low-quality like the tags page.

First, disallow from robots.txt all the pages that are useless or just add no-index.
add article_updated_at meta automatically using PHP, so you keep it fresh in the eyes of google.
Do not send posts to instant indexing. I've read a study where this thing make the Google Crawler to be lazy. Instead index in GSC the main pages and send the sitemap. Take care of good internal linking. I do have between 300k-800k crawler requests a day just from Googlebot alone. That's what i've done for myself.

Avoid thin or duplicate content, as google may reduce crawling if quality is low.

Instant indexing tools can help, but they don’t force Google to crawl faster. The real drivers are still site quality, freshness, and internal crawl signals. Make sure your site has updated content, a clean internal linking structure, and regular activity. High-authority backlinks pointing to new pages can also get Google to crawl faster. Tools alone won’t override these fundamentals.

Avoid duplicate content. Unique content ensures google spends crawl budget wisely.

Caveat: I am not advising you to do this but I started using download attribute in my <a> tags. I got 1000 pages crawled within the week. Your results may vary.

Instant indexing helps a bit, but Google only crawls more often when it sees fresh value - publish new content regularly, interlink pages, and earn some external mentions. Check that your site speed, sitemap, and robots.txt are clean so there’s nothing slowing crawling down. Once Google trusts the site more, crawl rate usually increases on its own.

Well this is certainly an attribute I've not seen or used before, which is worth running some tests on - thanks!
