How to hire technical writers?

Hello BHW lovers,

I'm looking to find some trusted and good writers. Just don't know what is the best option to hire qualified technical writers for computer and technology? Job boards websites or looking micro job websites like fiverr...?

If I want to hire long term in-house technical writers, what would you suggest me?

You can try the marketplace here or problogger. I wouldn't bother with fivver at all since you mentioned that you wanted an in-house writer, which I'm assuming to mean that you require a writer with open availability. To be honest with you, the bidding websites like Upwork are so saturated that it might take you some time to find a good match. Finding someone who is capable of writing technical pieces for cheap isn't hard if you don't mind fact-checking and making heavy edits. Most good writers recognize their value pretty early on, and they're simply not gonna pound out content for pennies that they know their clients are leveraging for considerably more.

There is plenty here in the forum, just ask for examples and see who you like the most and then good to go for long term relationships.

Actually I need more writers to arrange my team. Where can I find full time writers that work from home with fixed salary.
Please help me if anyone has experience with arranging a technical writer team.

Good luck with finding a quality technical writer, they are worth their weight in gold. Technical writing is totally different from Amazon reviews and top 5 fluff blog posts. I find the writing demands an expert within the field or in depth research. The writer is usually conveying a process, technique, or system which usually has its own vernacular and way of writing. I wrote a 60k technical writing book this summer, and wrote a 10k technical article in one day last week. I have tried to hire this out myself, but even writers on Upwork with a 100% job success rate and over 2k hours booked can't come close to technical writing unless they have:
A. An in depth brief that covers keywords, questions the article should answer, sources etc.
B. An example to follow that contains usual ways of covering the technical subject
C. In depth research

My rate's $55 an hour (not looking for work, have all I need at the moment), and I have found that you will be paying at least $25 an hour for a long term quality technical writer, if you find one lower than that you can make some money being a pimp, I mean manager, on Upwork. Also, I don't want to hear that you can find a tech writer for $5 an hour, if you do you won't have high quality readable content imo, there won't be flow either.
