Hi BHWers...

Please let me know your thoughts, tips, and advice on hiring an SEO specialist.

How can I know if the person showing me all these case studies are actually done them? What's your vetting process or what questions do you ask before hiring?

Can't afford to lose one more time.

Thanks

YOUR TITLE IS MISLEADING :)

I thought you gonna hire SEO, but you are only hiring SEO Specialist.

BTW apart from that, you can do following things:-

1. Make a list of their case studies and ask someone in this forum to go through them, someone will surely help. Prepare good questions regarding type of content and backlinks. 301 redirects and a lot of similar things. You will surely find something suspicious if the person is not confident with his work.

2. If you see only DR inflaters or someone suggesting low quality seo tricks to get fast wins don't go with them.

Save the budget by testing the person. You can later give them bonus if you get really good guys.

Those "case studies" can be just rehashed content as I highly doubt there are many SEO agencies or specialists out there who are conducting their own research. If you look around the forum then you can see from the feedback obviously, but I think @MisterF runs quite a reputed SEO agency here so you might want to look into their services.

I can think of some ways in order to get the best SEO guys that fits your website:

1. Service testing
Simply test their services for a period of time - somewhat costly, but saves you in the long run. Also, it will take more time.

2. Reviews
Check the reviews of their services (legitimate reviews) from people that personally used their services. You still have to take their opinion with a grain of salt, however, since the strategies that have worked for them might not work for you.

Nevertheless, you can still pick according to your needs.

At 1st try find out your nearby person who already taken services from the SEO specialist/agency
and ask them their experience, if good then go with them.
