Yeah i do that and it seems it is working as i am geting 100 followers without doing much these days.
But 100 seems to be small number so any more suggestions.

No matter what network or medium it is, Content still remains the king.
The better and creative your content is, the more people you will attract who eventually will end up following you if they like your posts.
Another way is to track and analyze your competitors, following people who you believe could be interested in your niche and would love to see your images. And now that you're analyzing them already, try to see what type of content they're posting, something which they're missing out and tap that element improving yourself and making your account better than theirs.
And I know not everyone likes to buy fake followers but there are certain services which provide you real looking followers which not just boost the numbers but also increase the activity on your account making you look more popular which increases the chances of other people following you when they visit your account and see you're already pretty viral on Instagram!
Once you're popular enough and have a lot of following, you can contact and promote brands in your niche to monetize the account.

Fastest and easiest way to grow it whitehat? Buying powerlikes hands down.
I know this post is super old but you were correct at the time. Once Instagram removed the "Following Activity Tab", super likes were dead on arrival after that. What really held up your IG platform was cross promotions with high quality pages similar to your page. For example, if your page had an average engagement of 40K to 100k+ LIKES on post, I would exchange promo with these pages or better. Truth speaking, those pages couldn't be spam pages as well. All high quality cross promotion only.
