If you want something for free - you should do it yourself. The only way is to promote your Twitter in other social media and be active in Twitter itself.
You need to communicate with people you're interested in and so on in order to make them follow you. It will take lots of time but it's the only free way.

As for a way to get free twitter followers -
Post lots of good content that is relevant to the audience you want to attract. This could be a mixture of images and text but keep in mind the content that performs best on twitter is text - and witty text.
You can use something like hootsuite to automate the posting of content, they have a free plan as well - https://hootsuite.com/en-gb/plans/free
Then start following people that fall under your target audience - you can find people by looking at the followers of other accounts in your niche. A percentage of those you follow will follow back.
You can also interact with these users - tweet them, retweet them, post comments on popular tweets and so on.
You can use a free chrome plugin such as this one - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...witter/lfmanfkmmgfigbnjibfemdnnfjboficn?hl=en - which will allow you to somewhat automate the process of following and un-following users.
Of course all of this can be scaled up with tools if you have the money, but to start with you can do all of the above without any cost.

i discovered a method "follow FollowBack" followers via free chrome Mass Follow
you can gain with
15k followers >600 daily followers
150k followers >500 daily followers
until 15k followers i can't tell you the growth but if you do it in the right way
>60% followers in relation to the followed amount

follow the 2 "followING lists" or the followers of the daily published 6 accounts @ fb.me/Autofollowback (published ~ 22³³ MEsZ)
The stats ↓ shows an extra boost + ~5% in the1st 15days 62% → 67%

If you have a small account, don't think about fake, free followers. It won't help you too much. Just be active and creative, the first follows appear naturally.

Best way I've found to earn points is to create spam Twitter account to follow people so your account doesn't look like trash & home page flooded with spam.
Make sure to get daily bonus often (75 actions from any section on left hand panel, I recommend following on Twitter though)
Then create campaign for Twitter followers & play around with how many points you'll pay for each follow.
There is no free lunch, this takes sweat equity but is honestly really easy.

Sounds basic, but honestly I get a lot of followers on my personal account simply from discussing mainly current events and agreeing / giving likes / following people with similar mindset. I'm surprised how fast I can grow my personal account when I actually bother to, lol.
