I've got featured snippets for clients as a consequence of linkbuilding, but I was wondering if there was a direct step-by-step-method to get a featured snippet for a brand. It seems featured snippet becomes a thing when Google assigns an MRID to your brand, but is there any way to speed up the process?

Featured snippet for a brand?
The top0 serp for a brand is mosly its brand site with sitelinks.

There is no feature snippet for a brand afaik.

Sorry, I should have phrased it better, I meant the client brand's FAQ showing up in featured snippets. The only way I know how to do it is keep blasting niche relevant links until Google associates the FAQ as being highly relevant to the topic, but is there a more elegant way to do it? I've set up FAQ schema, but these are client brand sites so I can't put 200 spammy PAA questions on them, it starts looking weird.

@4440 do you think theres a relationship between when Google assigns MRID to a brand/categorises it as being in a specific niche/topic, and when the featured snippets start showing up?

Research and identify the keywords for which you want to rank in featured snippets. Focus on long-tail keywords that have a higher chance of triggering a featured snippet.

I dont know what MRID is but I'll try to answer.

Featured snippet does not come from FAQs. Featured snippet is usually a result of google trying to generate a question from your texts. It's like a question generation NLP. If you analyze featured snippets and PAA you will find most of the questions are completely generated from the texts. No user really asks the question and nor does the question appears in the text. Google generate fake question-answer pairs to solve potential q&a style searches.

I don't know if faq schema will help but I assume it helps very little. What really matters is to write your content in plain English so Google can generate questions from your texts.

E.g.
Your text is : BHW is a forum that teaches black hat SEO tricks.
==> Google can generate a featured snippet from your text:
Heading: What is BHW?
Answer: BHW is a forum xxxxx.

For your question, I think what matters most is to write your content in a NLP friendly way and use some related h2 heading for questions. As for your client's brand, I still don't know what you want to achieve but I have not seen featured snippet examples that are specifically related to brands.

Thanks for clarifying, I thought there was a relationship between the FAQs and featured snippets.

Best bet is to beef up the article by answering more questions from PAA

To get a featured snippet, create content that directly answers a specific question, use the targeted keyword in the title and within the content, and include HTML elements such as lists or tables.

Write good content, use semantically valid html code (e.g, make it easy for google to parse your site between headings, bulleted lists, meta data etc).

Get lots of backlinks for the desired keyword that use variants of that term linking to your page.
