You can try claude 2. It creates longer content, if claude is not available to you. You can use it via openrouter.

The simple method , split your prompt
Write description
Write table of content
Write 100-150 words about first line of table of content .
And so on
You will get 1500-2000 words ..
The article should take 1-3 minutes from ur time ..
Dont do the easy one prompt and wait it generate full article more than 1000 words

Yes I always ask him to write "a minimum of 1000 words" but no luck.
I appreciate it, although I'm looking to test ChatGPT4 specifically.

Never ask 2000 words, 5000 words, 1000 words
because its a chat box hard limited to ~800 words
This is what you do
1 Ask for detailed outline (ask for 10, 20 h2 whatever you want)
2 ask for detailed sections for the partial outline (2 h2 4h2 whatever you want)
repeat 2

If you will add (Generate 1000 words article) along with your prompt, it can give you better results. Else as mentioned other persons in this thread, you can split your prompt to get better results, if it is not fulfilling your requirement.

The key for long articles is the memory allocated, which is expressed in terms of tokens. ChatGPT 4 by default has a total of 8K tokens that will result in around 800 words articles at most (if you give enought prompt that its easy for chatgpt to cover that 800 words).
If you need anything longer than that, there are multiple methods:
1. Applying for the 32K ChatGPT4 model
2. Using a different model like Claude2 (as already mentioned)
3. Using the ChatGPT API and creating a series of prompts, problem is that there will be a ton of repetitions, because the memory from the original prompt will be exhausted. This is by far the worst method, but the one that most sites do. Some people try to fine tune the multiple prompt approach in order to get significantly different results (for example, just by changing the tone of the prompt, you may generate drastically different answers, so if you keep asking a different tone per prompt you could end with a multiple 800 x number of prompts long-article.

You have to put a word count in the header (Aprox: 200 words) for example. You can't just stick "2000 word article please" in the prompt,. it wont adhere to it.

If you want to do this simple, if you have something like GSA SER, you can ask the software to write a 1K words article for you without any hassle. It will use the API on your behalf and do a nice article for peanuts
If you want also an alternative and simple solution Claude2, has the advantage that it has a massive memory also. With a couple of prompts you can get the long article pretty straightforward, but it's slightly more manual and I have not tested the API, so it's slightly more cumbersome but better result than the former.
Applying for a 32K model in ChatGPT4 is the least recommended, because they normally take ages if not forever to approve it.

You should use good wording in Chat GPT so that it is also easy to understand and provides you with the right content so that you don't face any difficulties.

maybe you can do the outline then ask AI to write part by part, each part 500-800 words, so the whole article can be 1500-2000 words

Outline your article first. Then create article per heading. Also used good prompts.
