They do however (in my experience) convert well for software products.
They are innately irritable and best left alone though

Try Facebook or Youtube traffic. I've done that in the past to get traffic.

Driving traffic to your website is not a big deal (conversion from this traffic is actually).
Design some attractive graphics and infographics and publish them everyday on Twitter, Facebook, G+, Linkedin, Pinterest and in next 15-20 days check analytics reports. You will see the difference. I have been following this practice for few of my customers.
Email marketing works better if you have genuine emails in your database and you understand the email marketing tricks.
