I have a few instagram accounts that I want to post stories to. I have scraped a bunch of videos in my niche and I want to automate posting of video. I have a bunch of 16:9 videos that I want to post to stories which is 9:16. Is it possible to automate or script adding black bars to the videos to accomplish this?

You know programming languages? Java has a bunch of libraries for this, but you can probably find libs for any language if you search.

FFMPEG will do it for free (but is a command line program and not the easiest). Or if you are using a bot, then it should really detect the ratio and change it to an allowed resolution - if the bot doesn't contact the support and ask them to add it. They may just be unaware. With so many possibilities of video inputs / resolutions / formats testing every possible input is impossible and you are guaranteed that users will do something different to how you tested anyway.
