How to find referring domains for specific website

I used ahrefs for this purpose, they show full list of referring domains, since my trial expired I need to find different solution.

I'm wondering on which way ahrefs gets this list of referring domains?
Also is there some free tool or one with trial option which gives full list of referring domains?

They got crawlers and bots roaming around like hungry spider to collect data for them. I doubt you are going to find suitable free alternative to ahrefs.

By far Ahref is the best tool in the market. You can try Powersuit its good and free too for some links.

You won't get Ahrefs data elsewhere, cause they use their own bots. Better get Ahrefs or ask someone to provide the ref.domain list. OR use some other tool like Majestic, Semrush but the data will be different... for full data they also need subscription.
