How to find low competitive niches?

Basicly, this is the main question.
For now I've chosen a hobby and right now collecting any good info about it. Main idea came up from this thread:https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/would-you-buy-this-expired-domain.1157337/#post-12411251
But now I'm not so sure, if that was such a good idea.
After I checked several low competitive keywords there were no clear answer on some questions. But there some sites with really high DA and pretty old domains.
So what should I do?
Should I keep searching for low competitive niches or just keep updating blog, creating backlinks etc?
What would you suggest?

Aight, took a look but yeah that is a very tough niche. Nevertheless still found some low competitive KW but it take quite some digging and as you already know all the most known are hard to beat.

How do you find low competitive niches?
 
You can use KWfinder or any other tool that reveals keyword competitiveness. Like Billy Batts said it would require some digging.
 
Use semrush/Ahrefs to find low competitive keywords with low KD and low total results. You just have to pull the currently ranking keywords data for your top competitors and sort the results accordingly. Hope that helps :)

If you notice that there are words on major news sites that aren't in the dictionary yet, pay attention.

You might be on to the hottest new trend while everyone's waiting for the trend to become 'official'...

by then, it would be too late

You find low competitive niches when a new gadget comes new to the market. Maybe not as a whole niche (which can happen), but as an interesting tweak to an existing one. Fidget spinners come to mind. Those who got in the trend, made a killing.
 
Okay, so basically almost every known little niche has been covered.
But there are still some words with low KC.
For now I can count around 20 keywords.
I think I'll write some articles around 2000+ words long and post backlinks.
But how to expand on that?

People always want the easy way, but on this one you must make use of your brain a little bit, and logical SERP there is a thread here that detailed explained

So basicly, all my chosen keywords are crap, because their search volume is more than 250. And I shouldn't waste time on them, even if their KC is less than 30. Great.

I didnt tell you that you waste time on them, basically KGR method help you to rank without backlinck!

I actually find hard finding KGR keywords that matches the rules. Can you explain how you do it ?

If I am correct, KGR equals number of posts you find with allintitle / search volume. And if the number is less than 0,26 - it's a good keyword.
