Since you are trying to figure out your competitors’ and niche-related email messaging, I suggest that you come up with a list of your competitors.
If you’re drawing a blank but you know your keyword, go to Semrush and type in your target keywords.
You would be able to pull websites that specialize in that type of content. You can also type in your domain and see your organic competitors.
Once you have a list of competitors check them out and see if they have a mailing list. Sign up for all your competitors’ mailing lists.
You probably need to do this technique several times. Type in a competitor and find their related competitors, type those in to find theirs until you get a massive list going, and visit all those places to sign up for their newsletters.
The key here is to use a burner email because you don’t want to get all that spammy newsletters in your regular email address.
Second, you need to look for patterns. What kind of topics do they have in common? If you are going to launch your newsletter, you better cover those topics.
They focus on those topics because there’s a demand for them. Also, pay close attention to how they come up with their spin on a topic. This is part of their brand appeal.
At the end of the day, if you want to maximize your income potential from your newsletter you must reverse engineer your competitors’ emails.
