How to do SEO effectively with competitor?

My website was on rank 1st thesis institute in Chandigarh on this keyword but after one of my competitor purchase the domain with the same name or keyword, after few days my website rank got down and its showing on number 3rd right now. I am working on this website from the past 7 years and now my website rank got down. what should I do? you can also check Thesischandigarh.
And what about EMD update. I guess this type of website should be panalised by google because of the exact match domain.
And those already have week number of backlink and doesn't have good content compared to my website. And the website is only 3 months old.
Please suggest me things related to this issue. Also, my website ranking is decreasing day by day but in google analytics, data is not matching with my search console. There is a difference between 100-200 users per day. I had 800 visitors per day on my website, but now it has only 600 visitors per day. What should I do to increase the traffic on the website and for ranking?
