How to do not oversleep?

Well that’s actually encouraging! Where I am right now, most of those things would still be classed as quackery.

The most potent cure for free radical proliferation that had been known to pioneers in such areas of medical research, even over a hundred years never came to light. I found four publications into the doctors journals on the entire internet. Four. And two of them were in german. That is a sticking point for me….and that’s one such instance as to why i’m a little skeptical at times

It’s good that the medical field seems to have now many hotspots for free thought and publications on alternative medicine though, thanks to the internet but it’s just made me question how decisions pertaining to efficacy are made by any declared authorities, just in case any finding happened to be a real hidden gem. Do you think even any rigorously qualified medical professional might be met with an unjustifiable degree of resistance that prevents traction. And as for biohacking, how would you personally begin to assess any report into it’s effectiveness.

Edit: sorry to bombard you with questions. This is not scrutiny, i’m just curious as i’ve no hands on experience in such things myself.
No, no doctor with a sense of ethics is going to endorse or advocate something that could be potentially dangerous as it would violate the Hippocratic Oath....

Side note, all of the above methods I mentioned have strong supportive evidence to back them - biohacking does not..

Example - any doctor in the Pacific Northwest is going to recommend that you take vitamin d supplements especially during the winter, as there is much less sunlight people are indoors much more often, causing a vitamin D deficiency which negatively affects health in multiple ways...

Hey guys, i have a problem , im oversleeping daily, like 12-13 hours a day and it prevents me from doing better with my online business. Any idea how i could quit this bad habit? I feel like an alchoholic who can't get rid of drinking alchohol.. I'd appreciate help!
Get an alarm clock! Also, eat healthily and do exercise.

Winter time people tend to sleep more (read somewhere online before). in my case, change diet did a lot. I've been sleeping past a few days a lot because I'm having covid right now, but I usually sleep about 5-8 hours a day. In the morning, skip the breakfast and drink protein shakes instead, or eat high protein meal in the morning. Eating lots of carbs makes you more sleepy. Because If you eat too much carb that makes your body hit "blood sugar spike" states which makes you feel fatigue and tired. Usually happens right after meal. Also taking nap no longer than 30min helps..

Sleep cycle. If you sleep past 7-8 hours you will sleep another 2-3 hours more as you go into another sleep cycle, going into deeper sleep mode. It's the same with power naps like if you don't get up after 20 minutes or so of sleep, you'll instead feel more drowsy and want to feel like sleep as you begin to enter deeper sleep state.

So, lets say you feel great with 7-8 hours of sleep. Then you just set the alarm and get up and workout get refreshed and feel clear in mind. More than that and you are habituating yourself to sleep more.

There's no trick, it's just setting the alarm and getting the fuck out of bed at once when the alarm goes off.

Ramp it up to 24 hours and you won't have to worry about a thing

On a serious note, it could be your diet and irregular schedule
Force yourself to sleep less and take power naps

I mean for one like others said it sounds closer to depression.

If you feel like you're not depressed then it's very likely something to do with what you're eating and the amount of time you spend outside in the fresh air.

Basically boils down to these few things. Also if you game a lot, you should definitely cut down on that.

Not true at all, there there are countless doctors and healthcare professionals who will quickly tout the efficacy of very general non-commercially specific treatments and solutions (which biohacking would fall into the category of) such as aromatherapy, St John's wort, melatonin, vitamin b, vitamin d, alkaline water, herbal teas, and a litany of other things, but not biohacking...
Partially true.

When, during COVID, have you ever heard a doctor get on TV and say: "Hey fat fucks! If you can't run a mile in 6.5 minutes or less, you need to start training. We're in a pandemic and the ones who are in shape are living and a healthy body is actually extremely effective combating the virus. Oh yeah, sleep and vitamin D? Load up."

Nah bro, it's just "take your vaccine and go back to taking mirror selfies"

Thank you guys for all the help, today i was able to wake up after 8 hours. It was hard to wake up, but after that i feel 100% good and i don't need anymore sleep. It just the first 1 hour a bit harder till you fully wake up.

Can i get some more motivation words from you guys? So i can keep going!

Btw at first i wanted to go back to bed , i did this, but i found power in myself to finally get out of bed, so yeah, it's all about decision, even if its hard i should still do that anyway..!

A normal human being sleeps on average 7 or 8 hours a day. Sleep time can vary depending on age, gender, and hormone levels.

As others have pointed out previously, sleeping more than usual is a symptom of depression.

There is another possibility (which I know very well): out of those 12 or 13 hours, you don't really sleep.

You think you're asleep, but your brain isn't on break. Maybe you have nightmares or night terrors. The principle of the thing is that you don't remember it.

Aside from the times when I'm running on stress and adrenaline, which are followed by a few days when I sleep 12 hours straight, the only time I need to sleep more than 8 hours is when I have nightmares every night.

My assumptions are as follows:
— a depressive phase;
— a hormonal deregulation ;
— nightmares or night terrors (the two things are not the same at all).

Try to find a sleep doctor.

Or try a sleep monitoring device.

If your problem is purely chemical—I'm assuming you don't take anxiolytic, sleeping pills or cannabis-type substances—and it's a hormonal imbalance, it's easy to treat.

But if your sleep issue is due to brain “activity” during the night, it gets more “fun”.

Last I checked, exercise never cease to be recommended for your health.... Funny you should say exactly that example, Matter of fact I remember seeing it was either the today show or GMA, where they were in fact interviewing a doctor and they were having a discussion that had to do with what types of alternate physical activity is safe to do during covid since the gyms are closed down blah blah blah blah blah... So actually yes they were LMFAO

Set a time every night you want to sleep and don't vary it.

Try a 5mg tablet of Melatonin available at the health food store. I am surprised the doctor
didn't mention it.

I believe that Magnesium Glycinate is also recommended to aid sleep.

I usually refrain from giving any medical opinions but if you are still worried about this I recommend looking into taking some Vitamin D supplements. I would get consultation from a professional to avoid taking too much though. Hopefully that helps with the sleepiness. Good luck.

One thing that helps me get out of bed is to put the alarm away from the bed, so I am forced to get out of it in order to turn it off.

That's hardcore man. You need to set not just one alarm but a couple of them and have the discipline to wake your ass up when you hear them go off.

It's really as simple as that.

See if you are doing the following. Go to sleep earlier, on time, like 10 PM or something about. Put energetic song on your alarm clock that you can't ignore. Something like rage against the machine type of thing. Before you go to sleep think about how you are looking forward to do some great work on your online business and get up earlier to do so.

Make sure you sleep is good by making sure temperature is right for sleeping, minimize any noises during night. Also, don't eat in the evening as much as you can. I eat my last meal for the day around 5 PM but whatever works for you. Don't eat before sleep.

Make sure your bedroom is ventilated with fresh air before going to sleep. Also, the moisture has to be right.

join the military, get a job that starts early.
