How to do not oversleep?

Haveing a kid worked for me. Used to sleep 12+ hours a day, Now I'm lucky if i can squeeze in a nap somewhere. So set an alarm every morning for 6-7am and just don't go to bed so early. As soon as you wake up get up. Don't laze about.

If you get all your work done, what's wrong with the odd 12-hour shift in bed? LOL, I have those and all-nighters sometimes. Feels like it keeps your brain active and teaches you to stretch yourself, and extend the same required relaxation times.

I had this problem due to jetlags and changing my worldwide locations too often.
There is no real solution ...
I had to wake up for conference calls, business and client meetings - so that helped me somehow.

I mean having at least some good schedule in your calendar would help you a bit.

Looks like it's the only working method. I was trying to pretend my family members are my kids, but it didn't last too long.
also don't get vaccinated that shit keeps me up all night just malding at the fact that they can now know where i am and what i wanna buy without my consent
what the...

What a minute.. what oversleep mean? Are you guys really sleeping?

ANYWAY.. If I had such issue the very first thing I would had done right away is to seek for a therapist who would monitor my sleeping quality and brain activity during nap time.
If you have no healthy nap for your brain makes no diff if you sleep 10 or 15 hours.

Also .. some people use to sleep longer due to overstress or depression (defense mechanism).

And finally.. get your ASS UP when you hear that alarm :D

+Get a dog..
+Parenting fixes this as well :D

Since this is appears to be distressing to you i’d say you’ve just got to bite the bullet and get your ass out of bed. And early. And jump straight into a cold shower if need be.
Don’t listen to this soppy nonsense about feelings and seasons. Sorry but that’s some next level bullshit. And any sugar coating here will just make you’re apathetic slumbering deeper and comfier. You’ll have to think about whether any low spirits and lacklustre are an effect or a cause. And that’s my two cents as someone who isn’t paid to push pills on people ;) Of course if you feel any over sleeping or lethargy is not a result of melancholy, that by all means disregard this.

Better to see a doctor
May be hormone imbalance

Ask your wife to slap you after 8 hours, you will normally wake up and be awake very fast.

I sleep only five hours these days. The trick is to set up to five loud alarms with only 10 minutes between. Their annoyance will wake you:D:D

I used that trick too, but 5 hours? I can't

Excercise - work yourself up to daily excercise - starting at maybe a 5 min jog 3x/week and build from there, helps all areas of health and restful sleeping

This might sound counterintuitive but - melatonin supplements.. they make really yummy gummy chewables too - just pick a bedtime, chew on one or two gummies (not more) 15-30 min before bed, it will make your sleep more restful, therefore your body won't feel like it needs those additional 4-7 hours you seem to be taking in every day

Herbal teas will help achieve similar benefits as the above

If all else fails - do some crystal meth and never sleep - you will have 24hr/day 365 to tweak out on building backlinks

I've been really into biohacking here lately. I'm in shock this wasn't mentioned yet given this is normally quite a techy community.

Buy a Whoop! Or an Oura Ring - https://ouraring.com/

There may be something to that, but there's something about biohacking that never really sat well with me.. as someone who used to work in the medical field, been familiar with exactly how delicate of a balance our biochemistry has, and it just seems way too easy to do something that ultimately creates a lot more and worse problems than the one you were trying to correct in the process... I could be wrong, then again I'm not aware of any internal medicine doctor physiologist or licenced biomedical scientist who encourages that, correct me if I'm wrong...

Alarm clock the other side of the room
Set heating high for when you wake up
Put a big glass of water near you for when you wake
Write down why you need to get up and make it highly visible
Exercise will also help

If all else fails schedule in a really embarrassing email to a friend / gf so you have to go to your PC to stop it sending! :-)

Can't speak to the Oura but I like my Whoop. I do a lot of work in the cellular health industry so I try to test a lot of these biohacking products.

I'm a terrible person to give advice for getting up early... The thing I believe probably would work the best, however, is to make small changes like getting up just 15 minutes earlier and get up at the same time 7 days a week. Once you get used to that get up 15 minutes earlier and so on. Stack up mini successes. And every early riser I know goes to bed and wakes up around the same time 7 days a week. And yes that means early to bed and early up on the weekends. I do admit their days are longer than mine. I truly should practice what I preach!

I do not claim to know how any ‘approval’ system in any conventional healthcare industry works, but I do often wonder whether it’s more a matter of assesing efficacy, or profitability - and any lack of patentabilities thereof as i’m aware most equipment and medicinal products are supplied by private profit making companies.

How is any disruption to existing supply chain and business agreements with public healthcare services effected by any potentially groundbreaking new innovation, no matter how quirky it seems. Do you feel any such commercial considerations and incentives may hamper objectivity toward any investigation or insights in to ‘desinger’ new alternative remedies and treatments..? A label i’m aware does no justice to assessing any remedy or treatment on a case by case basis but which i’ll use here for simplicities sake?

Not true at all, there there are countless doctors and healthcare professionals who will quickly tout the efficacy of very general non-commercially specific treatments and solutions (which biohacking would fall into the category of) such as aromatherapy, St John's wort, melatonin, vitamin b, vitamin d, alkaline water, herbal teas, and a litany of other things, but not biohacking...

Well that’s actually encouraging! Where I am right now, most of those things would still be classed as quackery.

The most potent cure for free radical proliferation that had been known to pioneers in such areas of medical research, even over a hundred years never came to light. I found four publications into the doctors journals on the entire internet. Four. And two of them were in german. That is a sticking point for me….and that’s one such instance as to why i’m a little skeptical at times

It’s good that the medical field seems to have now many hotspots for free thought and publications on alternative medicine though, thanks to the internet but it’s just made me question how decisions pertaining to efficacy are made by any declared authorities, just in case any finding happened to be a real hidden gem. Do you think even any rigorously qualified medical professional might be met with an unjustifiable degree of resistance that prevents traction. And as for biohacking, how would you personally begin to assess any report into it’s effectiveness.

Edit: sorry to bombard you with questions. This is not scrutiny, i’m just curious as i’ve no hands on experience in such things myself.
