I am starting a new website and rather than just waste my time in copy paste I want to go in depth this time.
Firstly I would like to know which tool does BHW users prefer for keyword research. Currently I am using
https://adwords.google.com/ko/KeywordPlanner/Home
to find the search volume and competition.

Use some keyword search tools like Google keyword planner or keywordtool.io.
Choose the most suitable tool for your niche, but I believe most of them are good tools. Good Luck!

SEO Keyword Magic

This tool is amazing, and can dig out some great ideas.

It's from SEMRush, and is currently in beta—which means it's free for public use with access to full results.

I have an account with SEMRush, and love their service. It's like $70 for the basic plan though, so many people starting out don't want that option. I don't know how much longer their SEO Magic Tool is going to be publicly available, but I'd suggest use it as much as you can until it disappears.

—To clarify, SEO Keyword Magic is currently a FREE service. You don't have to sign up, register, or even give your email address. Just click that link, type in a keyword, and bam.

I also created a new website too. And it's to support folks like you to do keyword research. Google Keyword Planner is great, but it's recently stop showing exact search volume. It can be very misleading if you don't have the exact number. I suggest you to go to KeywordPlanner(dot)Pro because it provides you search volume and competition metrics for FREE with unlimited use. Don't abuse the tool though and share it with other online business owners if you think it's useful

I agree with SearchedTerm. Until recently Google KP was the tool that I used for most of my keyword reserches. However now that it doesn't show exact search amounts unless you run adwords ads, it definitely has its weaknesses. So I would suggest Google KP completed with something else like Semrush and/or Keywordplanner.

Use keyword Revealer and then sell high priced keyword packages

Try Google trends. It is simple, but it shows the hike of the keyword searches done by the visitors in Google.
It shows the results of the keywords for the particular region too.

Lots of KW suggestion tools are available if you are looking for free means try to google KW planner, paid tools mean try KWfinder, keyword revealer like that. And you can check with the trial version of paid tools to know its performance.

My suggestions are Google Keyword Planner and keywordtool.io. Both are good.
