How to do keyword research

For long tail keywords I use keywordshitter which is a free tool. And then I run all the long tails through long tail pro. Long tail pro costs a bit of money but its well worth it in my opinion. Make sure you read up on some of the posts on here about keyword research. You will find plenty of answers to your question.

Based on your niche select keywords it may be low or high competition, short or long tail keywords etc.,
After having some idea about your keywords, find the competition for that KW's using some online tools like Google keyword Planner, SemRush,UberSuggest etc.,
In my opinion, start with low competition and then move to high competition keywords.

You can find the right keywords at WordStream's SEO keyword research tools......
