How to DM users on Reddit without getting banned?

So, I tried to promote my Affiliate Link on Reddit by DMing users about it.
The DM wasnt spammy at all, just a nice message with link to the product.

My account is 1 year old with 20k Karma.

I tried to send only 2 messages / hour (to avoid getting banned by spam filter), but still after sending 15 messages my account got Shadowbanned.

Is it even possible to promote anything on Reddit?

I can't post my link on Subreddits because the Subreddit Mods will remove it immediately, and now I cant even DM people.

What now?

Do you guys have any tips on promoting on Reddit without paid ads?

Were you using a direct link to affiliate product? You have to use redirect from your own domain to the aff product. Also, how did you target the people you sent the advertisement to? Were they "kinda" targeted or super targeted?

Was your sales copy convincing?

I have tried selling through DMs on Reddit as well and I was laser targeting the people, around 80% of people who wrote back to me thanked me for contacting them and were very grateful for me suggesting them a product AND STILL - ZERO sales.. I was promoting clickbank products, sent out 600 super targeted messages to people who were really searching for an answer to their problem.

I think it's really difficult to sell directly on Reddit. I have only managed to sell a product 1 time via linking to it in the comments.. and then I have something like over 1k clicks and zero sales + the 600 laser targeted DMs and 0 sales.

I would suggest collecting emails and selling through them or promoting physical products/CPA email submit offers when trying to DM or direct link.

I spent a week writing the sales copy, wrote few variations of it to send different message each time (now it seems like a waste of time tbh).

I didn't push the product too much. Tried to keep the message casual as possible.

I was promoting clickbank products, sent out 600 super targeted messages to people who were really searching for an answer to their problem.

Anyone has any ideas on How to prevent my accounts from getting banned?
Is it the external links that are triggering the spam filter?

I have another 2 year old account, dont want it to be banned as well.

No, I rotated between 8 accounts that were few years old and had karma on them. I sent the message one time per acc, then changed to the next acc and again till all the 8 accs were used and then started again from the 1st acc.

I used 5 different subdomains for linking but I don't know if it made any difference. Sending one and the same subreddit post link was ok with all the same accs.
 
Reddit not easy as there very fusy lot but there many ways.

Don't send cold messages to people trying to sell shit.

What you guys don't realize is that behaviour like that makes the social media companies paranoid and ultra obsessed with stopping spam, which toughen up the rules for everyone and makes it harder for marketers in general, and also makes users hate anyone trying to sell anything.

1- Offer value
2- Attach a product to that value

Really give me what i need. Not what you think i need, but what i said i needed. I said i wanna learn how to do X. So send me a link to your website where you actually teach me how to do X, or give me the info i asked for. On that website you can have ads. Through those ads sell what you wanna sell. Maybe even incorporate a product related to what i'm asking within the information you're giving me. That's how you do it.

Doing this 1 DM at a time is just a huge timewaste. You need to automate it to make any use for your money and when u automate it then it's not so targrted and get reported.. That's the biggest problem.
 
I would approach mass Reddit spamming, the same way others approach cold email.

- Create 500+ Reddit accounts.
- Swap messages back and forward between accounts until they are warmed up
- Once warmed up, send 3 DMs per day per account, to cold Reddit accounts
- Use spintax, change the URL in every DM, leave no footprints, don’t send 24/7
- Ensure you continue to send normal DM messages between your accounts
- Build more Reddit accounts on a weekly basis to add to your spam network
- Once you have say 3,000 Reddit accounts, offer your DM service publicly
- I would pay you to send 5,000 Reddit DMs for me :)

try sending cold message eg hey do you have an interest in xyz. then when they reply, follow up with your link
looks like you already did spintax which is good. and it's gumroad link so not like it's direct tracking link from cpa network which are usually blacklisted.
@wolfman1 has great tips especially making multiple accounts and swapping DM's between each other to warm them up
stuff like this is always trial and error to find out how to get past the traps.

How many DM's in total did you send before you got shadowbanned?

I've been sending ~20dms out a day with a 6 month old account with next to no karma, and I haven't been banned yet

This is probably the best advice in this thread.
Reddit has a variety of factors and tools to flag suspicious accounts. It's unpredictable.
 
Not to offer anything in first message, the link is in 2nd or 3rd reply and you have no trouble.
 
Also, there is a big difference here if we are talking about sending DMs vs PMs.

DMs solution is done by a third party on Reddit and they offer no support for it. PMs solution is done by Reddit itself.
 
Just stay under the limits and don t send links
 
LMAO no, you can't spam reddit. If that was the case, every Joe would be doing that.

Reddit can be spammed and Reddit can be played, but the difficulty is significant. When they actually bust you there usually is no knowing where it all went wrong and what was the mistake to avoid.
