How to delete a primary email on Facebook (without access to it)?

Lots of AI responses to this thread.

Facebook.com/hacked does not work. It redirects me to

"Make important changes in Accounts Center

You can only complete this action in Accounts Center."

If Facebook recovery isn’t working and:
  • The hacker changed your password AND removed your verified email/phone
  • AND you have no access to the current login methods
You’ll likely need to submit official ID or go through Facebook’s identity verification portal:

FB account hacked and they added an email address which I cannot remove

Every time I try to delete their email, it sends a code TO THEIR EMAIL ADDRESS confirming I want to delete it.

How can I delete their email without FB sending the confirmation code to their email address?
There is no way. You should use a new account that you can fill in all the information. To avoid the same thing happening.

Once an unknown email is added and set as primary, it’s nearly impossible to remove it if you no longer have access. Security systems will always require confirmation from that email before allowing any changes, even if you were the original account creator. To handle this situation, you’ll need to go through the access recovery process — which typically involves submitting identification to verify your identity. Once you’re verified as the rightful owner, you’ll be able to safely remove the other email and reset your contact information. This is the only way the system will accept it without confirmation from the compromised email.

If the email you want to delete is the only way Facebook can contact you, you cannot delete it yet. Because Facebook needs a verification code, and that is the only way to send the code to you.
Therefore, you need to add a new email. Then change this new email to the main contact method. Finally, you can delete the old email by asking Facebook to send the verification code to the new email (main email).
GOOD LUCK!

Try adding a new email as a verification email before deleting the other one. If that doesn't work, submit the form or contact support directly.

You can ask FB to support sending a confirmation code to your email, if you have full documents to prove that the account is yours.

Hacked FB email’s a pain! Add a new email in accounts center, make it primary, then try deleting theirs. Report via facebook.com/hacked if stuck

Unfortunately, if the hacker's email is now the primary one and you're locked out of your own contact email, Facebook's system will always send confirmation to the primary address for security reasons.
⚠️ There’s currently no way to delete a primary email without confirmation from that email. This is part of Meta’s anti-hijack protocol and cannot be bypassed manually.

You can't delete the hacker's email without access to that email, as Facebook will send a confirmation code to that email.
Visit Facebook's official account recovery page to start recovering your account.
Verify your identity and report the suspicious email as not yours.
Submit your ID if Facebook asks for ownership confirmation.
Once access is restored, you can safely delete the hacker's email.

Steps you should take immediately:

  • Try to recover your account right away
Go to Facebook’s support page to report a compromised account:
    https://www.facebook.com/hacked
Follow the instructions to regain control of your account.
  • Verify your identity
Facebook may require you to submit identification documents (such as ID card, passport, etc.) to prove you are the legitimate owner of the account.
  • Contact Facebook Support (if possible)
If you have access to Business Manager, use the advertiser support channels to request help in recovering your account.
  • Check logged-in devices
Go to Security Settings to log out all devices that are not yours, change your password to a strong one, and enable two-factor authentication (2FA).

You need to have the old email and phone number, you can choose to get the code in another way besides sending it to your email to be able to verify

How do I make the new email I add primary?

I think you are mistaken, if the old gmail you cannot remove may be meta has returned the original gmail of your profile, or someone else has accessed and changed your information

That's rough. The short answer is you really can't once it's been properly set to that email.
You have to reach out here and hope they can help you: https://www.facebook.com/hacked
It's a fairly straightforward processes.
If that doesn't work, you'll want to report the account as compromised and cut your losses. The next best thing is the account can't be used by whoever hijacked it and you'll have to make a new account from there.
Seems you still have access to the actual Facebook acc though so that should make things somewhat easier. Get a hold of support while that's still the case.

You should report your account as hacked immediately and follow Facebook's instructions so that Facebook can verify your identity, usually by asking for identification. Once you've regained control, change your password immediately, enable two-factor authentication, and delete the attacker's email.

Your account has been assigned a different email and it is difficult to delete it. Please ask Facebook for help. The longer you wait, the lower the chance of recovery.

To delete a primary email on Facebook without access to it:
-Add a new email: Go to Settings > Contact and add a new email address you can access.
-Set the new email as primary: After adding it, select the new email as your primary contact.
-Remove the old email: Once the new email is set as primary, you can delete the old email from the list.
Ensure you have access to the new email before removing the old one, as Facebook will send verification to that address.

The new email is primary, but I still can't delete the old one.
