How to create your own cryptocurrency based in bitcoin?

Hello i want to do a cryptocurrency like dogecoin or pesetacoin, based in the code of Bitcoin. It is for my school, i dont want to earn money from it.
How can i do it?

To make new coin or ico is 5 minutes task if not 3, but to make it visible in the world of cryptos you need some money. First of all you need to buy servers to mine it at first or do POS or approve contracts, then you need to buy your own coin to provide some volume, then it's just a thing of marketing.

to be more precise check minereum, it has all you need to become next bill gates ;)
 
I do not get it, how can i create a coin based in BTC(not a token)? I dont need to make it visible, it is just for the school
