How to create sitemap for website and subdomains?

Hi,

If we are having multiple subdomains for a website, then how can we create sitemap for main website?

Also, is it necessary to add each property of subdomain in search console? and have to create separate sitemap for multiple subdomains and a website?

I always create separate sitemap for subdomain and submit it to search console. I do that with rankmath sitemap creator.

Okay, also we need to submit every subdomain property and main domain property in Search console and then have to create individual sitemaps for multiple subdomains and main domain?
 
Yep. Every subdomain is its own site with its own sitemap. There is a way to create a sitemap of sitemaps, I think there was a wordpress plugin for that

Hi, Can you provide me solution like how to work? I'm having one website and 10-15 subdomins for that main website. So first i need to add main website then 10-15 subdomains property in console and next for each website have to create sitemaps? right?
 
Each subdomain would have to have different sitemap.
 
Creating a sitemap for a website with multiple subdomains involves generating separate sitemaps for each subdomain and a sitemap index file that lists all the individual sitemaps.

Can someone please tell me if creating a sitemap in Google Search Console is still necessary if using a WordPress plugin like Yoast SEO?

Thanks man. Just looked into Screaming Frog I actually never heard of them before. Could you care to explain if it is worth getting over something like Google Search Console? Is there any difference at all?

GSC is your interface to Google. Screaming Frog / Scrapebox are tools to create the sitemaps you can then submit to GSC.
 
I want to follow up on this.
Ok, I make my sitemap, and I have to send the link to Google Search Controle ... But in between, I need to upload it to public_html, when it comes to main html.
But how to upload it in cpanel, when it is a sitemap of a subdomain ?

You could submit a subdomain sitemap by uploading sitemap.xml to the subdomain’s root via cPanel File Manager. Then in Google Search Console, add the subdomain as a separate property and submit the full sitemap URL.
 
It is generally recommended to add each subdomain as a separate property in Google Search Console (GSC), as Google treats subdomains as distinct entities. Adding them as separate properties allows you to monitor performance, indexation, and issues for each subdomain independently. You must verify ownership of each subdomain in GSC to submit sitemaps or manage settings. Separate properties allow you to control sitemap submissions, geo-targeting, and other settings specific to each subdomain. If the subdomain is tightly integrated with your primary domain and you include its URLs in your primary domain's sitemap, you may not need a separate property. However, this will limit your ability to track subdomain-specific data. If the subdomain is not important for SEO, you can skip adding it. It is generally best to create separate sitemaps for each subdomain and your main website.
