How to copy a whole WP site

This may seem like a dick move, but this is BHW and i've spent a crazy amount of time + money on a developer trying to replicate a site I really like. However, is there a way to just completely copy the thing and change the content after?
It's nothing amazing, but I really like the layout of the page and the theme of the site has been hidden, so tools don't work.

That will probably come in handy for you.
 
Nope sorry but there is no way. You can try to replicate it or even copy the CSS and HTML files with some web scrapers but to just copy the whole thing is simply impossible unless you have admin access to either the hosting or the administration of the website.
 
If you have admin access then you can use plugins to duplicate all of your files and WordPress settings.

If not you can use httrack to download CSS and HTML, you'll then have to alter this using your HTML skills. Was never worth it to me because I could make my own landing page in WordPress and easily duplicate it to scale up on a number of sites I have going.
 
Why don't you re-use his theme, and scrape the content, upload with wpallimport

It will take 2 days to have fully functional website
 
Maybe link to web and I (or someone) might be able to tell you the theme?
 
Why dont you ask the site owner about theme name? Offer him a nasty high DA link for that
 
It's impossible to do that. Its the SQL that has all the info about CSS, JQUERY etc other stuff that simply cant be duplicated.

It's easy to clone.. not sure whom you hired but it looks like he had no idea about cloning lol. Bad luck..
 
The real systems are:
1. Detect the theme with WPThemeDetector or whatwpthemeisthat sites. Then you can purchase it and use.
2. Use httrack to copy the site. Then convert it to wordpress theme. And then use it.
 
Yeah, you can use a website scraper or if it's a WP site, you can check the theme used in a site through whatwpthemeisthat.com.
 
View source and then usually there's a css file for the theme. For instance if the theme name is "fortress" then there will be a css file like /wp-includes/themes/fortress.css that will tell you what theme they are using.

Lol no, there's not a single reason serving stylesheets or js from a database

@op best option is, to get a static version of the site as other already suggested and then build a wp theme out of it if you need a cms behind
