How to check proxy quality + list of trusted proxy checking sites

Proxy is one of the most important — and also riskiest — tools for anyone doing making money online. Many deals succeed or fail just because of the proxy quality. So today, I want to share some simple, manual methods I personally use to check proxy quality right after buying.

1. Check location​

If you buy a US proxy, it should show as US, not UK or Germany. How to check:
  • Go to Google and search for any random phrase. See if the language and country displayed match your proxy’s country.
  • Or go to ecommerce sites like eBay, pick a product, and check the Shipment section to see if the default country matches your proxy’s country.

2. Check timezone​

The timezone should match the proxy’s region. To check:
  • Search “Time” on Google and see if the displayed timezone matches the region you expect.

3. Check IP owner information​

Besides location and timezone, also check who owns the IP on sites like whatismyip. For example, if the proxy claims to be US but the IP owner is listed in different countries that lowers trust a bit. This factor isn’t super critical but good to be aware of.

4. Check blacklists​

See if the proxy is blacklisted by major sites like Google or Cloudflare. A sign is if you get CAPTCHAs all the time and can’t bypass them. However, if the proxy is blacklisted on one site, it might still work fine on others.

5. Check speed​

Slow proxies can seriously hurt your tasks, especially those requiring high speed like TikTok growth, web scraping, etc. You can test proxy speed on speedtest.net or whatismyip.
Around 30-50 Mbps is good. Under 10 Mbps usually means lag and delays.

6. Check for WebRTC leaks​

If your WebRTC is leaking, websites can easily detect your real IP address. To check WebRTC leaks, you can go to proxy checking sites. To fix this issues, you can follow:
  • Use a VPN running in the background, with a location matching your proxy, so if detected, the VPN IP shows, not your real IP.
  • Disable WebRTC in your browser (note: this may affect browser performance).
  • Use antidetect browsers with WebRTC changing features, which confuse sites so they don’t detect a leak.

Solid checklist here for anyone manually testing proxy quality post-purchase. Key factors like geolocation match, timezone accuracy, blacklist status, and WebRTC leaks are often overlooked but make a huge difference on platforms like TikTok, Meta, or Google. If you’re using mobile proxies (4G/5G), many of these risk points are naturally minimized ,the IPs are residential and the connection behavior looks much more organic, making them safer for most use cases.

I'd also suggest checking the IP with Scamalytics or IPQualityScore - sometimes you'll find out the proxy is already flagged as a datacenter or used for bot activity.

✅ Analyze IP fingerprints – Use tools like IPQualityScore or Scamalytics to see if the IP is flagged as a proxy, bot, or high-risk.
✅ Monitor rotation behavior – If you're using rotating proxies, log the IPs over time to check for proper rotation or repeating patterns.


These extra checks help ensure your proxies don’t just look good on paper but actually work when it counts.
