How to change video picture

1. I upload video on youtube
2. Youtube automaticaly choose 3 pictures and you can choose which you want show in searching

But what to do if I want another picture? Always youtube choose picture which isnt good for my video in searching.

Exapmle:

I upload video about dogs. Youtube chose some 3 pictures which are bad. And I want picture with big head of dog to looks interesting for people in searching. How to do it? Thx

Log into your youtube account then click on Video Manager or whatever Its called then it will show you 3 pics just select one of them
 
I know but what if I dont want the picture of theese 3 pics selected? What I want another picture which isnt selected???

Add the picture you want at the end of your video for the longest time you can... YT eventually will pick it up. Select that as your thumbnail then cut it out in video manager so when people watch your video they won't see that static picture there.

Hope makes sense 4am here lol
 
Yeah I've seen that many a times.
Wonder how they do that.
(Hint: Only Partnered Accounts have it)
 
Only YouTube partners can do that. Add a random picture of anything and make it their thumbnail.

Add an image at exactly half way through the video. That'll make it one of the 3 pictures.
 
What ipwned and Skittles are both correct. Do one of each, and it'll work. I prefer Skittle's method, as you can simply edit out the image without having some random image pop up half way through the video. :p

If you use the YT Video Editor to cut out frames, you have to click the "Publish" button and that produces a whole NEW video. It does not change the initial video you are attempting to edit! And the 2nd video that it produces, may or may not have the "thumbnail" that you desire.

Am I missing something?
 
Never mind, I just realized that you DO NOT use the YT Video Editor to get this done.

You click on "Enhancements" and select the "TRIM" button, select the frames you want to trim and then click the save trim button and you are done!

I used to do that for a while and today I just realized I have an option to add my own thumnail lol

I tried the "trim" as stated but it changed all of the "thumbnails."

Am I missing something?

The objective is to choose your own thumbnails and I thought this method might work, but it hasn't for me. If anybody has this working, let me know the steps please.
 
skittles method doesn't work, I have tried it several times and it doesn't work, if it used to work it was a long time ago.
 
Yes I guess they changed it I haven't been to my YT channel in so long but that's how it used to be - I am sure there is another way around :D
 
So nobody know how to do it?

Next to Thunbails generated, Click on "Thunbail button" (NEW)
 
Indeed, You can upload any picture you want with that option...

Go to "Edit" and under the three thumbnails you find the option "Custom Thumbnail"
There you can upload any picture from your hard disk with a max of 2MB...

I got this option for a while now and it is working fine for me.. Also check the Invideo Programming in you settings, That's a cool option too!!

But there isnt option "Custom Thumbnail" Probably it have only some accounts?
 
I thought in the past you could choose your pic but now you cant. Sucks because they give you some horrible choices to choose from sometime.
