I just use seo quake, after the domain receive PR you can check it with SEO quake.

Just install Page Rank Extension on Google Chrome browser you can check page rank right away. No need to confuse yourself by going into the formula stuff.

If you're doing a school project or something like that, the pagerank PDF paper is out there available, it's linked from the wikipedia page posted by gtreeoutsourcing.

It's not impossible to calculate, but you won't have the breadth of crawl they do so yours will be skewed like ahrefs and others are skewed. Good luck.
