How Site Theme affect SEO.

Hello guys,
am planning to change the theme of my WP site, the previous one was not supporting mobile menu plugin so some posts and pages were breaking.
it has a decent amount of traffic. will it affect my SEO right away? If so how to minimize it?
please do suggest some mobile responsive theme for a basic site. (ad-friendly and SEO optimized)

If you get a good theme which is optimised for mobile it’ll bring in greater speed which will help in rankings

This..... and make sure the theme will not generate lots of crap pages that will get indexed.....but speed it's for sure an important ranking factor.

newsmag i was using, its phone menu style is not up to the mark. for that reason, i started using mobile menu plugin that broke my site not completely but some pages including Home.
i should try bimber.

As mentioned, try to find an SEO friendly theme that's coded properly and doesn't come loaded with a lot of useless features, as the extra plugins used by some themes actually hinders page-load speed.
