I saw a similar thread not long ago with no responses and I've been wondering this for a while:

I've got a client who is a vet who wants to rank locally for his suburb as well as his surrounding suburbs.

Would I be better to make his title tag: Awesome Vet - Ashwood, bluehill, neverland, oddsburg
Or:
Awesome Vet - Ashwood Vet, Bluehill Vet, Neverland Vet

Or am I better to just put his main keyword, which his his location, so Ashwood Vet in the homepage title and then create seperate pages for the other keywords?

Thanks!

WOuld be better if you target with the location name, easy to rank.

The surrounding suburbs are pretty close though and get the same amount of search volume as his main keyword, he will get a lot more traffic and customers if I can get him ranking for these other locations

Separate page for each location.
Ex:
Thevetsite.com/ny/manhattan-county/vet-kw-here

Something like that would achieve what you want. Of course, it will be more work... but at the end it will be worth it.

I'm looking for the same answer as well. What city (if any) should go in the homepage title tag if a company is located in multiple cities?

I'd say head office should go first, or more approriately, the one with the most search volume. :)

If you have many locations or want to save time, you can try a ...... and sensibly targeted to locations in which the brand does business then they ...

What what what?

Hi 1337WuLF

It is often said that create different pages for different locations but it is useful only when you have real office/stores on those locations. Google recognizes the pages by its unique address as well as numbers. Avoiding the Google Facts can lead to penalty of accounts. For a detail information, please see "Local SEO Setup" heading in http://www.smartinsights.com/search-engine-optimisation-seo/local-seo/branch-store-google-maps/

Interesting. Thanks for link.

Hello, while working in my recent "Local SEO project" I had targeted same website for two location. Simply, make two listing page and get them verified from 2 different addresses. Thanks

Ya, different pages for each location is definitely the way to go. Then if you can get Google Maps listings towards each page, you're in business.

Does your client have physical locations at each? If so, that makes things much easier for the verification side of things.

In my opinion, you need a wide variety of landing pages and if we about keywords then you could use your both options.

Greeting!
Good post especially for the people who don't know these things or having issues like this. I suggest that you should have to work on keywords rather than making more landing pages.

Hi buddy!
You should have to use keywords according to page or site you want to grow.
You can target multiple locations by creating links on multiple sites to get better results of SEO.

Try to add sub domains in ur website and from Sep on it. Apply even few yelp reviews too.

So what if I wanted to have websites by states (10 states) then have 5 or so major cities in each state's website each with their own page and local seo. Those city pages would not be available to the other cities landing pages but they would all share (perhaps) common content pages. I am trying to capture leads, is this the best way to do that? In addition I would have multiple seperate splash sites that fed the main state websites powered by banner or native ads feeding the splash pages/sites Just trying to see if that strategy makes sense. Are there solutions to quickly create these mini state websites and/or splash sites that are reasonably priced? Any advice on where to find good outsourcing for building sites fast (less content) or applications? I am somewhat new to this so please excuse any sillyness that may be apparant. Thanks for any expert advice!

I would say that different pages for different cities would be better option to rank well and quickly :)

Why dont he pick the location on his keyword and start posting on the local classified sites, this will surely work out.
