For creators aiming to meet monetization requirements, are watch time services effective and safe? Do they provide organic retention and audience interaction, or could they harm channel credibility?

I've experimented with watch time services in the past, and while they can be effective in boosting numbers, I'm skeptical about their long-term safety and impact on channel credibility. From what I've seen, these services often prioritize quantity over quality, which can lead to inflated metrics that don't necessarily translate to organic engagement. Has anyone had any success with watch time services that also prioritized audience interaction and retention, or are there better alternatives for growing a channel? I'd love to hear about other creators' experiences and strategies for meeting monetization requirements.

They might boost numbers short term, but the retention and audience behavior usually look unnatural

Most watch time services use low-quality or fake views that don’t create real engagement signals

So Imo, Not reliable and risky.

Honestly most watch time services are fake and won’t help monetization, real watch from real people matters way more.

As far as I've seen SMM panels only serve bot traffic as a way to inflate your metrics. None of the users from SMM panels interacts with your content. I think you should focus more on organic traffic coming in from great/high quality content, real people's eyeballs who will gladily watch your videos and shorts if you provide great value in your videos/shorts.

StaticGrowth hey watch time services are a huge gamble because YouTube’s manual review is very strict in 2026
The system easily detects unnatural viewing patterns, and those hours often get purged right before you hit the Apply button.
Even if you pass, bot driven hours kill your organic reach because they tell the algorithm your content has zero real engagement :D

Obviously, it depends on the provider and/or the specific service, but usually watch time services are delivered through high retention views, so the avg. Retention increases. They are also safe and work to get the channel monetized, as long as the content complies with YPP guidelines. However, I wouldn't say it helps to grow organically. It's just a tool to get monetised faster.
